Our Team
Bloomberg’s Global Infrastructure, Data Center & Workplace Sustainability teams manage the performance of our buildings and services in more than 160 locations worldwide, including our mission critical datacenters. We support day-to-day maintenance and operations, capital improvements, and new data center construction projects. Our group works closely with the Global Real Estate and Engineering teams to maintain and deliver state of the art data centers to meet organizational needs.
What is the Role?
We are seeking a technical Project Manager to manage the delivery of mission critical construction projects, and strategic initiatives within the Bloomberg Portfolio. The Data Center Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and commissioning of data center facilities and mission critical projects within the Bloomberg portfolio. This includes managing critical infrastructure systems, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring financial governance throughout all project phases. Experience with Construction Management, Real Estate Development, Critical Electrical, Mechanical and Fire / Life Safety systems, project planning and scheduling is priority. The ideal candidate will also provide high-level administrative and operational support to critical infrastructure leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with internal governance standards. The candidate will be responsible for managing the execution of various strategic initiatives across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver products and services within our portfolio. The role demands a highly organized and technically proficient leader with a proven track record in managing complex projects in both live mission critical facilities and ground-up construction.
We will Trust You To:
Project Management
Coordinate and manage all meetings including effectiveness, time management, and documentation management, inclusive of the management and distribution of meeting minutes.
Coordinate and manage the design process with all vendors and consultants inclusive of internal department stakeholders within project requirements
Coordinate and manage the design, construction, and commissioning of all critical systems, including but not limited to diesel generators, UPS systems, electrical switchgear, power distribution equipment, chillers, HVAC equipment, fire detection/suppression and building monitoring systems.
Coordinate and manage the design, construction and commissioning of administration / office areas, warehouse and storage defined spaces
Coordinate and manage communication with all Bloomberg departments including Engineering, Network Operations, Security, and other internal departments.
Coordinate and manage all Data Center Facility documentation including Plans, Procedures and Operations Manuals for final turnover.
Coordinate and manage Data Center Facilities Training during commissioning process and final turnover.
Coordinate and manage the testing and commissioning process to meet the project’s requirements and goals.
Prepare and manage presentations and reports detailing construction and budgetary progress to management.
Assist in the overall Data Center Strategy and Real Estate site selection initiatives.
Program Management
Engage with a diverse group of stakeholders particularly across businesses such as Engineering, Data, Corporate Technology, Security Operations, Corporate Finance, and Sustainability alongside our leadership team to align our initiatives and meet our shared program objectives
Assist in program and vendor management focused on the design, build, and operations of existing mission-critical data center infrastructure.
Serve as a point of contact for stakeholders throughout the program lifecycle, applying the necessary program management discipline to amplify the vision, manage business expectations, help with prioritization, and influence tradeoffs conversations
Develop strategic project plans by defining the project scope with stakeholders and product managers to set clear objectives, curate and oversee timelines, deliverables and interdependencies across multiple teams and product roadmaps
Oversee and manage program wide risks, interdependencies and cross team collaboration ensuring deliverables are completed
Act as an escalation point for stakeholders, manage issues, anticipate risks, and develop mitigation plans
Collaborate with organizational leadership to manage change within our business plans
Cultivate a network of relationships to drive alignment across multi-disciplined teams, facilitate collaboration across businesses and departmental boundaries
Develop and maintain detailed program plans, risk registers, and communication strategies to ensure transparency and accountability.
Develop, monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), milestones, and deliverables to organizational leadership.
Facilitate program governance by preparing documents and presentations through regular reviews with steering committees and senior leadership.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize infrastructure reliability, scalability, and sustainability.
Willingness and ability to manage smaller strategic initiatives and programs of values between $100K-$5M.
Financial
Prepare comprehensive budgets for capital and operational projects.
Assist in management of department operational and capital improvement financials and governance.
Coordinate and manage all general contractor / construction manager processes and overall procurement plans including but not limited to sub-contractor procurement, levelling, and award.
Coordinate and manage equipment purchases including direct pre-purchase as well as contractor purchase.
Manage budgets and financial governance, outlining all aspects of construction and site development.
Manage and approve vendor purchase orders, invoices, and cost tracking utilizing industry best practices.
Coordinate and manage all change management processes including procedural developments and risk assessments.
You will Need to Have:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent work experience of ten (10) years.
Minimum five (5) years' experience working in the data center market sector.
Financial Project Management and Governance Experience greater than $50 Million.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
Experience and knowledge within a data center environment including Utility Systems, UPS Systems, Emergency Generator Systems, Electrical Distribution, Chilled Water Systems, Critical Air Handling / Conditioning Systems, Pre-Action Systems and Fire Alarm / Protection Systems.
Experience reading and understanding Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) and Architectural Plans and Specifications.
Willingness to travel approximately 10%

Experience with Real Estate Leases, Transaction and Commercial Agreements
Experience with the operation and maintenance of Critical Infrastructure and Systems.
Proficiency and understanding of Data Center Information Technology (IT) Systems including telecom networks, switches, routers, servers, storage, and cabling systems.
Experience with Smartsheet’s, eBuilder, Trimble, Procore, Autodesk and other Project / Program Management Platforms
