We’re looking for an experienced, high-caliber Live TV News Producer for our Asia headquarters in Hong Kong. Working with the Asia Senior Producer, you will collaborate with teams putting together as many as eight hours of live weekday shows from across Asia and the Middle East, while driving coverage for our global network. We want a seasoned journalist with a strong editorial background, a creative streak, and a passion for business news. Crucially, this role is a designated growth track. We are looking for an ambitious professional with the capability, drive, and vision to transition into a Senior Producer role, eventually leading teams and shaping our regional broadcast strategy.
We'll trust you to:
- Produce live shows and thrive under the high-pressure environment of the control room
- Collaborate with the Senior Producer from day one to help shape long-term editorial strategy, program design, and market coverage
- Apply impeccable news judgment to select the market, finance, economics, and policy stories vital to our global clients
- Write and produce high-impact news segments, conceptualize data presentation on-air, and build sophisticated video/graphic elements
- Work toward regularly deputizing for the Senior Producer, leading the team and running the control room in their absence
- Act as a proactive team player with excellent communication skills to bridge coverage across Asia-Pacific, the U.S., and EMEA
You'll need to have:
- 7+ years of TV newsroom and control room experience in a fast-paced, continuous live news environment
- Proven recent and relevant experience covering global business, finance, and economics
- Emerging leadership qualities with a clear interest in team management, mentorship, and talent development
- Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills, alongside a demonstrated ability to handle breaking news under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Flexibility in working hours, including early morning starts
We'd love to see:
- Deep knowledge of the Asia-Pacific business environment and financial markets
- Prior experience acting as a shift lead or informal mentor to production teams
- Experience in field producing or crafting long-form programming
- Experience with social, digital and cross-platform video
