We’re looking for a Valuation Specialist in Hong Kong or Singapore for a one-year assignment supporting the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a proprietary ranking of the world's richest people that is updated daily. The successful candidate will be responsible for calculating and maintaining billionaire profiles and net worth estimates that appear on the Bloomberg Terminal and Bloomberg.com. This role will work closely with Bloomberg's RICH team and a global network of valuation specialists to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of billionaire wealth calculations. While the role sits within Bloomberg News, the primary focus will be valuation analysis rather than article writing.
We’ll trust you to:
- Maintain billionaire profiles on the Bloomberg Terminal and Bloomberg.com
- Calculate the net worth of billionaires using proprietary tools and methodologies
- Work closely with a distributed team of reporters and valuation specialists to monitor news developments and securities filings to keep the Bloomberg Billionaires Index current
- Analyze regulatory filings, ownership structures and market data to support valuation methodologies
- Justify valuation estimates with colleagues, clients and representatives of billionaires
- Assist the broader team with enterprise stories and special projects when requested
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years of experience in valuation, finance, accounting, equity research, investment banking, financial journalism, or a related analytical field
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial data
- An understanding of valuation methodologies and financial concepts
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across teams, groups and regions
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced global environment
