Bloomberg News is looking for a sharp, driven Foreign Exchange Reporter to cover one of the world's largest financial markets. Based in New York, you'll join our Macro Markets team to report on the forces driving global currencies, with a particular focus on the US dollar.
This is a role for someone who's eager to break news, cultivate deep sources, and explain complex market moves with speed and clarity. You'll cover everything from central bank decisions and geopolitical shocks to the biggest trades shaping the world's reserve currency. You'll write for an audience that includes investors, policymakers and business leaders around the globe. You'll be part of one of the world's most trusted financial news organizations, working alongside Bloomberg reporters across the Americas, Europe and Asia to deliver agenda-setting coverage of a market that never stops. We'll expect you to:
  • Break news on the events, institutions and investors driving global foreign-exchange markets
  • Deliver fast, authoritative coverage of market moves, central bank decisions and geopolitical developments
  • Build and maintain a strong network of sources across banks, hedge funds, corporations, central banks and government institutions
  • Pursue ambitious enterprise stories that reveal how capital flows shape markets and economies
  • Turn complex macroeconomic and market developments into clear, compelling journalism for a global audience
You'll need:
  • Experience in financial journalism, ideally with a focus on foreign-exchange or macro markets
  • A strong track record of developing sources across the FX ecosystem, including investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, corporate treasury teams, central banks and other market participants
  • The ability to write quickly, accurately and clearly under deadline pressure
  • A desire and willingness to collaborate with other reporters, editors and other colleagues in the newsroom
  • Strong news judgment, an instinct for identifying emerging trends, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver impactful reporting
