Bloomberg News is seeking an Editor for the Americas News Desk's Top & Today team. We're looking for a self-starter with a passion for breaking news as well as longer-form pieces, a journalist who can also generate ideas and present them in clear and exciting ways to reach the widest possible audience.
As a member of the newsroom's control center, you will be responsible for showcasing our best work on TOP<GO> and the Today section of the Bloomberg Professional app. We'll expect you to make confident decisions on which stories belong where in the limited space available. To ensure the quality of our coverage, you'll work with teams to craft compelling headlines and ledes, and bring together all the relevant multimedia elements that make a story effective. You'll also push mobile alerts on the best and biggest stories to reach clients wherever they may be.
Teams across the newsroom will look to you for guidance on coverage, feedback on writing, editorial troubleshooting and advice on publication strategy. You'll draw on your extensive experience in financial and business news to steer our coverage in a smart direction that speaks to the strengths of Bloomberg News, connecting the dots between various themes and going beyond the obvious angles of a story. At the same time you'll advocate for the reader, ensuring that we answer their questions, and respect their time and intellect, through our writing and presentation.
To be considered, please submit your application by Thursday, September 10.
