Blue Origin, LLC. is a privately owned aerospace company developing technologies that will establish a future where millions live and work in space. We are in search of a Facilities Site Leader for our Los Angeles area-based facilities. The Facilities team is chartered with evaluating customer requirements and effectively planning the space and supporting any occupation or on going change the current industrial and office spaces. This position will support the Space Systems Development (SSD) business unit. SSD develops next-generation concepts and systems to advance our future of living and working in space sustainably.

This role demands hands-on high technical expertise, leadership, and organizational skills to match our rapid design, analysis, and integration pace. The position will directly impact the history of space exploration requiring your dedication, commitment, and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Description:

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, the Facilities Site Leader is responsible for directing, planning, and managing all aspects of maintenance of the site’s manufacturing, office, storage facilities and grounds and all related infrastructure/facility systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily maintenance and repairs of physical buildings, manage facilities staff, and coordinate with vendors/contractors.
  • Lead the development and implementation of preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs within the CMMS for company facilities.
  • Interact with landlords of leased spaces in support of Blue Origin employees.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, report on performance metrics.
  • Develop and manage short- and long-term plans for maintenance, repairs, and capital expenses for facilities.
  • Negotiate with outside vendors and contractors, generate Statements of Work, and coordinate requests for proposals with Procurement.
  • Review existing contracted services and work scope to identify potential cost improvements and performance enhancements.
  • Assist Facilities leadership in evaluating maintenance services strategies.
  • Maintain a high level of best-in-class safety standards for team and facilities.
  • Manage budget responsibility for services, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Building coverage support responsibility: Leased office, research & development, and warehouse space (~150k square feet).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel and managing maintenance programs in a complex industrial facilities infrastructure.
  • Industry-recognized certification in maintenance management preferred (AFE-CPMM, IFMA-CFM).
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience within a facility organization.
  • Working knowledge of a CMMS system (Maximo a plus).
  • Strong vendor management skillset.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Compensation range for on-site CA applicants is $128,228-$175,318

Other site ranges may differ,
