As a Test Engineer in the Integration and Test (I&T) team supporting the Electrical Test Team, you will be supporting our mission to return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop test plans and procedures for vehicle level testing.

  • Lead daily test operations, operate test consoles, direct technician work and coordinate with internal customers.

  • Apply direct experience to component or integrated vehicle test planning and execution of vehicle electrical test, or equivalent.

  • Conduct acceptance testing that includes power-on, functional, performance, acceptance, and qualification.

  • Experience with test instrumentation, Data Acquisition, and Control Systems.

  • Work with the design and systems engineers to plan tests of the vehicle level and subsystems, ensuring the tests are designed to verify the pertinent requirements.

  • Design, procure, and install test support equipment; manage vendors and subcontractors during installation.

  • Experience supporting testbeds for spaceflight systems.

  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during testing.

  • Perform root cause, system hazard analysis and failure investigations.

  • Reduce, analyze, and archive test data to support verification tasks.

  • Find opportunities for safety improvements and cost savings.

  • Proactively prepare status updates and communicates both within the organization and with direct customers.

  • Have frequent inter-organizational and customer interactions on difficult technical issues.

  • Work independently to determine and develop approaches to solutions.

  • Participate in test readiness review, pre and post test briefings, and post test reviews.

  • Manage procedural redlines and updates during test campaigns.

  • Coordinate test crews, support equipment and vehicle configurations for testing.

  • Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations.

Qualifications

  • Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!

  • BS in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.

  • 5+ years of applicable experience.

  • Experience with space vehicle integrated vehicle testing including electrical test, test software or related test experience.

  • Experience reading and writing code in C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or other languages)

  • Experience with Flight Computers, Flight Software, Vehicle Commanding, and Command and Data Handling.

  • Understand the Test Like You Fly assessment and exception process.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.

  • Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline

  • 7+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience with human-rated space vehicle development and verification

  • Understands/experience with hazardous operations.
