This role is part of Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE), supporting Blue Origin’s mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. The team fosters innovation and drives engineering workflows of the future, shared solutions and standards, simplicity and lower costs, and manufacturable design.We are a team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. As a Software Engineer II, you will join a team of passionate software platform engineers, responsible for building and maintaining distributed services and UIs for distributed platforms intended to efficiently drive quality, schedule, and configuration management standards used daily by our engineers to design Blue’s avionics hardware and software. This role will propel the reliable operation of the company and strengthen the value of automation and data-driven decision making in modern aerospace.

Responsibilities:
Design and develop scalable reporting, dashboards and RESTful services using Python, Typescript, SQL, and other tools
Participate in the development of automated processes to integrate disparate systems to generate engineering level reporting suitable for engineers and decision makers of different backgrounds
Develop analytical data models that support standardized metrics
Develop and maintain documentation, run books, data dictionaries and guides
Work with partners and domain specialists to generate reporting, application, and integration requirements
Maintain day-to-day workflow and communication with a variety of partners across the company
Qualifications:
2+ Years of Experience Working as a Software Developer in a professional environment
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or experience commensurate with education requirements
Proven expertise in Python, TypeScript, Ruby, C# or other general purpose programming language
Demonstrated ownership of services or internal or external products
Back-end expertise: Creating web servers & APIs with Python, Node.js and/or other server-side web frameworks (e.g. Next.js, Ruby on Rails, Laravel, Django, Flask, etc)
Front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6, Typescript, JSX, React), UX/UI design, data visualization, front-end styling frameworks such as Tailwind, Material UI, Bootstrap, etc. fetching data from APIs (REST & GraphQL)
Database proficiency: Writing sophisticated SQL database queries with many joins in highly normalized databases, designing normalized database schemas
Excellent written communication and presentation skills
Analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills
Understanding of modern software practices such as version control systems, CI/CD workflows, test driven development
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Self-starter, strong bias for action
Desired:
Experience with implementing Data Quality monitoring and alerting systems
Experience with hierarchical data structures and recursive processing techniques
Experience with JIRA, Gitlab and Confluence
Experience with near real time/micro batch data feeds
Experience working with Generative AI to process highly structured data and enable others to ask questions of the data
Knowledge of ETL tools and processes
Knowledge and experience with Linux, especially as applied to Docker
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and relevant technologies
Familiarity with AWS Services, especially S3, RDS, and EC2
Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes
Compensation Range for:
CO applicants is $123,714.00 - $173,199.60
WA applicants is $134,961.00 - $188,945.40Other site ranges may differ

Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
