As a Research Analyst within BCG’s Data and Research Service (DRS) function, you will take work upon complex research projects independently within our Digital Research practice area. You will proactively understand the context of the research ask and deliver actionable insights for BCG’s case proposals, ongoing cases and business or internal development initiatives. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of the Practice Area to BCG’s Case and Knowledge teams. Over time, you will narrow-down to a set of 2-3 topics and research areas of focus based on mix of research interests and/or case exposures, which will help you provide value-added research support to our Case and Knowledge teams.

The Digital research team at DRS supports consulting case and other internal teams at BCG by providing deep and comprehensive secondary research solutions. Some of the topics covered by team on a regular basis include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Block chain, Cloud, IoT, Mobility, Sensors, Digital Payments, RFID, Big Data, Advanced Analytics, AR/VR/MR etc.

Delivering insightful research outputs

• Deliver high-quality research on inbound (and curated) research requests for case/topic teams
• Identify opportunities to deliver "beyond-the-ask" and to deliver more dimension with coordination with seniors in the team (Senior Research Analyst and/or Research Manager)
• Demonstrate ability to engage with Case and Knowledge Team requestors on uncovering the 'real ask' (why is the information needed) and delivering ready to use materials/suggest opinion for use on case/topic teams

Developing and demonstrating ‘client-responsiveness’

• Proactively build capabilities and tool familiarity required to support case delivery and propose value-adds
• Network-with and build strong rapport with Associates and Consultants in Case teams and Senior Knowledge Analysts and Lead Knowledge Analysts in the Knowledge teams within the context of cases/requests
• Over time, identify 2 or 3 topics and research areas of focus based on mix of research interests and/or case exposures

Providing guidance to juniors

• Serve as 'buddy' and first point-of-contact for juniors (Research Associates) for research methods, sources and output expectation
• Equip and guide Research Associates on resources, templates, systems/processes to utilize in ensuring high-quality delivery on research requests
• Provide quality assurance support and coverage to juniors

• University degree - B.Tech from a premier institute, MBA (good to have) with strong academics

• 2-3 years of secondary research experience in the Digital/Emerging Tech sector; well-versed with major topics such as Digital/Emerging Tech sector; well-versed with major topics such as IoT, Drones, Robotics, RPA, Advanced Analytics, Big Data, Predictive Maintenance, Digital Twin, 3D printing, Autonomous Vehicles, AR/VR/MR and understands their implications to industry and potential ROI for clients

• Excellent English; verbal and written

• Proficient with the major databases such as Gartner, Forrester, IDC, Ovum, SimilarWeb, App Annie, ComScore, Crunch Base, CB Insights, Tracxn, Factiva, Capital IQ etc.

• Ability to work with wide-array of platforms including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; to be able to provide insights in most user-friendly format
