WHAT YOU'LL DO

As the ANZ Finance Senior Director, you will have overall leadership responsibility for the Finance Function across BCG's Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) system and lead a team of approximately 14 finance professionals. As the ANZ Finance Senior Director, you will be supported by four Finance Senior Managers. You will dually report to the ANZ System Leader - who sets the business agenda - and into the Asia Pacific (AP) CFO, who oversees the finance function in the Region.

The finance function sets finance functional standards (e.g., accounting policies, tax policies), processes (e.g., the annual planning cycle, treasury systems), systems and controls, and supports the local commercial activities of the BCG Partners.

You will be a member of the ANZ Commercial Council (covering the full ANZ Geography, including specialty business units) and the AP Head of Finance Leadership team. Further you will participate in Finance Function initiatives e.g., participating in the Future Finance transformation. You will collaborate with other functions including Procurement, People & HR, Client Team, Marketing & Operations, etc. With the ANZ People Senior Director and ANZ Marketing & Business Operations Senior Director, you will help lead and grow a world-class business services team serving BCG ANZ.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

Strategy, Decision Support & Analysis: Collaborate closely with the ANZ System Leader, Leadership Team, and the broader partner group to drive commercial strategy, business development, and financial decision-making. Your role will be pivotal in overseeing the governance of the business, offering an impartial perspective on performance, ensuring control integrity, and maintaining policy and statutory compliance. Additionally, you will lead the ANZ Geography's annual financial planning and forecasting efforts, working in partnership with digital teams, functional specialty units, and the People Team.
You will also serve as a thought partner on finance and commercial strategy for the Client Portfolio Committee (CPC – which drives business build and client service), contributing to key discussions and decisions related to business growth, risk identification, investment processes, pricing strategies, and communication with Partners, in coordination with the AP Client Team and other units.

Business Information & Analytics: Ensure the business has the necessary financial and related information, along with forward-looking analysis, to effectively guide decision-making. This may involve utilizing BCG's central information resources or providing localized insights. Your responsibilities also include leading accurate pipeline management for the ANZ region through ClientView, in close partnership with digital teams and functional specialty units.

Finance and Commercial Operations & Accounting: Hold overall accountability for delivering all financial operational activities across the end-to-end processes, including lead-to-cash, source-to-pay, record-to-report (both local and US GAAP), hire-to-retire, and cash management, leveraging the support of the ANZ Finance Managers. This encompasses managing the monthly and annual accounting processes for in-market business units. A key focus is on activities that directly impact clients, such as collaborating with MDPs to agree on payment terms, negotiating MSA rate cards with the Commercial Director, managing invoicing schedules and collections, and ensuring transparency on client economics relative to commitments, such as PVF and collections.

Finance Expertise Functions: Take overall responsibility for ensuring financial and regulatory compliance across all legal entities in Australia and New Zealand. This includes accurate and timely local statutory accounting filings and adherence to regulations such as tax filings (corporate tax, indirect taxes like FBT, transfer pricing, etc.), ensuring full compliance with local laws and regulations. This role requires close coordination with external auditors and advisors while ensuring alignment with the firm's global policies. You will collaborate extensively with Global Treasury, Global Tax, the Partner Services group, and the BCG Group Chief Accountant to implement BCG’s cash, tax, and accounting strategies.
Additionally, a key responsibility is partnering with BCG's Partner Services Group and the ANZ People Senior Director to ensure the effective execution of Partner Programs. You will also oversee risk management activities, ensuring local functions are aware of relevant topics and coordinating internal risk audit assessments and action plans.

Business Services Leadership: The ANZ Finance Senior Director is a key member of BCG's BST Executive team, alongside the People Senior Director and Marketing & Business Operations Senior Director. In this team, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening BCG's internal functions and capabilities. Key responsibilities include serving on the BST Career Development Committee, helping shape BST policy decisions, and acting as a visible role model for BST engagement and affiliation through initiatives like BST Forums and retreats. You will also collaborate closely with the BST Executive team on headcount and broader budget planning to align with business needs.
