What You'll Do
As a Manager – BCG Vantage on our Topic Activation path within BCG's Tech and Digital Advantage (TDA) Practice Area, you will collaborate and partner in a growing global team, providing functional expertise and insights. You will work together with case and proposal teams to provide knowledge assets, analysis and expert advisory. You’ll serve as a thought partner and content expert to case teams and topic/sector leaders, helping structure and solve complex issues.
Additionally, as a Manager – BCG Vantage you will drive development of intellectual property and knowledge assets to support the Tech Sourcing topic, serving as an active contributor to commercialization efforts for the topic/sector,
whilst working with business leaders to drive proposals & go-to-market efforts. As a Manager – BCG Vantage, you may line manage a team of junior colleagues, taking responsibility for their goal setting, ongoing feedback and career development support.
Tech Sourcing forms an integral part of our World Class Tech function (WCTF) that is a priority topic within the Tech and Digital Advantage (TDA) practice. With this offering BCG aims to provide a strong IT sourcing advisory service which helps clients in sailing through complex IT outsourcing environments disrupted by new delivery models and emerging vendor landscapes. The team helps our clients transform their IT function into efficient business & digital enablers by enhancing digital capabilities and increasing efficiency/simplification
As a Tech Sourcing Manager, you will provide expertise and insights for all industries/functions across the sub-areas of Tech sourcing such as Sourcing transaction support (RFP/RFX), outsourcing advisory services, third party spend optimization, sourcing optimization as well as defining strategy for cloud, data, applications, and IT infrastructure
YOU'RE GOOD AT
- Solving client's IT/tech management and sourcing strategy problems through applying expertise, research, and analytical approaches
- Driving development, maintenance and deployment of knowledge assets e.g. Tech Sourcing tools, playbooks, based on different client contexts
- Leading strategic projects to provide continuity and deliver against leadership priorities. Working directly with senior leadership and on practice area committees to drive the topic agenda
- Communicating with senior stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to engage your audience effectively
- Managing a portfolio of projects, with strong awareness of business priorities and commercial impact
- Training, coaching, and mentoring junior team members
- Working in an ever changing and complex environment, and comfortable with ambiguity and navigating a fast-paced environment
What You'll Bring
- 4+ years consulting experience in relevant Tech sourcing/ IT Outsourcing/Tech transformation required; candidates with consulting experience preferred
- In lieu of consulting experience, 4+ years minimum industry experience required; 6-8+ years of industry experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred)
- Expertise in relevant topics such as outsourcing transaction support, outsourcing advisory, third party spend optimization, Sourcing optimization as well as defining IT strategy
- Fluency in English
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholder while working in a global collaborative team environment
