What You'll Do

You are joining BCG’s Product Agility and Delivery Center of Excellence (CoE), an 80-person global strategic capability center and critical business partner of BCG’s internal Digital Product Organization (DPO).

This team is comprised of business and product delivery experts with specialization in Agile, Product Management, Product Delivery, Org Optimization and AI Innovation. This team is responsible for driving high-performance delivery of product, project and experience leveraging our expertise. This team directly partners with the Digital Product teams and shares in the delivery of their outcomes. Directly, this role and team report into ‘Modern Work Experience and Enablement’, a function within worldwide IT.

The Digital Product Organization (DPO) is a 2000+ person, cross-functional product & platform org responsible for running and continuously driving digital product capabilities and experience for all internal BCG business services (HR, Marketing, Legal, Risk, Finance, IT, etc.) and the entire BCG workforce. The DPO has over 20 Product Portfolio Families, 130+ product squads and 10 centres of excellence. This organization operates in a fully mature Agile Enterprise operating model, since its transformation in 2021.

This Senior Manager level role is a critical and central part of our product teams. In this role, you are responsible for partnering with product leadership, organizing and managing the team’s way of working, planning and managing the team’s releases, and continuously optimizing the team’s performance by managing key performance indicators.

Individuals that succeed in this role are experienced consultants, project leaders, or team leaders who able to manage and influence senior leaders, able to plan and organize complex teams and outcomes, able to deliver high quality results, able to build strong and collaborative teams. You are highly motivated, a self-starter, able to take charge and navigate ambiguity, an innovator, a leader of people and outcomes, and a person that wants to take on tough challenges to learn, grow and make difference. This is not just a Scrum Lead role, this is a Product Delivery Leader role working in Agile.


In this role, you will:

• Drive End-to-End Product Delivery:
o Oversee the delivery of product increments from planning to release.
o Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of initiatives, epics, features in alignment with the product roadmap.
o Facilitate, govern and guide planning sessions and workshops for product discovery or initiation.
o Support Product Teams in Prioritization and Estimations of Product features through various techniques like RICE, KANO etc.
• Manage dependencies across squads to ensure smooth and timely progress on product deliverables.
• Facilitate Release Planning and Management:
o Work with Product Owners and chapter leads to plan and execute product releases.
o Support pre and post product release activities including L2 support alignment.
o Improve agility in processes and tools to reduce time to market and enable faster deployments to productions.
o Ensure frequent releases to gather customer feedback and iterate based on insights.
o Ensure Quality of the deliverable is maintained by tracking Defect metrics like leakage, defect aging etc.
• Facilitate Risk Management:
o Identify risks that may impact product delivery and mitigate them proactively.
o Address impediments and escalate issues to stakeholders when needed.
• Metrics and Reporting:
o Track key metrics and OKRs such as velocity, lead time, cycle time, and predictability to evaluate squad's performance.
o Use data-driven insights to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
o Review with Product Owners, product performance (e.g., C-sat, adoption, product KPIs).
o Ensure product development efforts align with desired outcomes and results.
o Create dashboards and reports that provide clear visibility into product development progress for stakeholders like Portfolio leadership, sponsors etc.
• Coach on Agile Processes:
o Guide teams in adopting Agile practices like Scrum, Kanban, or a hybrid approach tailored to the product development context.
o Coach cross-functional teams, product leaders, and stakeholders to embed Agile mindsets and practices that foster adaptability, autonomy, and innovation. Act as a catalyst for organizational change by challenging the status quo and co-creating improved ways of working.
o Ensure Agile ceremonies (e.g., Daily scrum, retrospectives, planning) are productive and value driven.
o Continuous Improvement: Encourage teams to reflect on processes and identify areas for improvement during retrospectives.
o Encourage culture of inspect and adapt and failing fast through Sprint Reviews.
• Support Team Enablement:
o Fostering a Collaborative Environment: Build a psychologically safe space for team members to communicate openly and take ownership of their work. Promote a culture of accountability and self-organization.
o Encourage opportunities of Innovation and Experimentation.
• Partner with Product Owners:
o To ensure delivery aligns with the product vision and business strategy.
o To define and track OKRs successful completion.
o In backlog prioritization to maximize business value and strategic impact.
o To identify stakeholders and actively manage expectations.



What You'll Bring

• Minimum, computer science, technology, design or a relevant field (advanced degree and/or higher education preferred)
• 5-10+ years of client facing management consulting experience – big 4 consulting preferred
• 5-10+ years of project or program management experience – expertise in all methodologies preferred (Agile experience required)
• 5-10+ years’ relevant Agile role experience (e.g., Scrum Lead, Agile Coach, Product Owner, Mentor) in 1 or more organizations that includes delivery management experience (e.g RTE / Agile Delivery manager).
• Agile Certifications (preferred):
o PSM II (Scrum.org)
o CSM (Scrum alliance)
o SAFe RTE / SAFe Scrum Master / SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (Scaled Agile)
o Agile Delivery management
• Deep expertise and experience apply agile software delivery, the path to production and other operational aspects
• Deep expertise and experience apply other Agile frameworks (SAFe, XP, DevOps etc.)
• Extensive experience setting up, customizing, using JIRA / Confluence or other software to manage agile programs
• Expertise and experience in Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) for personal or professional use – ability to build custom GPTs, innovate using GenAI for solutions, coach and guide others on the use of GenAI to optimize their way of working and results
• Proven experience coaching Product Managers and actively partnering with them to drive product vision, customer engagement, stakeholder alignment, and roadmap development - ensuring strong alignment between strategy, user needs, and delivery outcomes.
• Practical knowledge and experience applying various coaching tools in team management
• Experience with technology enabled business transformation, Digital transformation, Organizational transformation, delivering enterprise-level IT and Digital projects
• Exceptional communications and stakeholder management skills – able to engage, communicate professionally and influence Directors and Senior Directors
• Experience of working in professional services or client facing industry with core skills in the likes of change management, customer centric mindset.
• Experience and knowledge of organizing and managing work in the form of OKRs (Objective Key Results). Ability to coach and align others on OKR best practices (required)

• Product Owner and Product Analysts, who drive the Product vision and roadmap, working directly with customers and stakeholders. You will partner directly with them to manage the outcomes they prioritize on the Agile release schedule.
• Other Agile Delivery Leaders filling roles of Scrum Lead, Agile Coach, and Enterprise Coaches whom share the same leadership, operating model, career paths, a love for great product delivery and agility.
• Portfolio Product Leaders – who are Senior Product Leadership accountable to setting the digital product strategy and roadmap across their product family, aligned to their customer / stakeholder needs, and aligned to BCG strategic priorities.
• Technical Area Leads and Product Tech Chapter Leads who are responsible for the strategic architecture, solution and applying the global BCG platform standards across products and engineering
• Architects – who partner across products and platforms driving tech strategy, consistency and governance
• Other experts in partner Centers of Excellence such as UX, UI, AI, QE, Change & Comms, etc. who equally embed in product teams and projects to deliver on the product and project roadmaps aligned to their scope of expertise.
