What You'll Do

As an Alumni Relations Specialist, you'll be part of the BCG People Team and actively shape the relationship with our former employees. You'll support the strategic and operational development of our alumni network and contribute your ideas and organizational skills to build a vibrant and engaged community.

You'll report to the Alumni Relations Manager Central Europe and work in close coordination with your team and relevant stakeholders to advance the relationship and outreach with BCG’s alumni in Switzerland: from transitioning active employees into the alumni network to maintaining the alumni database, developing network formats, and implementing communication measures and events that strengthen the alumni community.

In this role, you'll support our internal alumni process and ensure that former employees are smoothly integrated into the alumni community. At the same time, you'll strengthen the continued contact with our alumni by developing and supporting formats and promoting long-term communication within the community, thereby helping our alumni to benefit from each other, whether through networking, knowledge exchange, or personal and professional connections.

Your communication and analytical skills will help you to develop meaningful concepts and drive forward the integration of people, marketing, and business development. This includes being the external communication interface between BCG and alumni, as well as playing an internal advisory role on which activities provide the most value to the exchange between active BCGers and alumni and how to implement these activities in a scalable way.

What You'll Bring

Project manager and communication talent, business developer and networker—for you, these roles go hand in hand. You have experience dealing with HR-topics and understand how to develop and implement the right communication formats and measures with the aim of strengthening relationships long-term and specifically encouraging communication and exchange within a community.

  • You have successfully completed a college degree, ideally in marketing/communications or economics.
  • You have some work experience in HR, marketing/communications, project and stakeholder management, events, and/or business development.
  • You are able to independently develop and implement strategic and creative projects. You always keep an eye on stakeholder management, processes, and structures.
  • You have experience working with CRM database systems and tools. Sensitivity and a high sense of responsibility in dealing with personal data and information are a matter of course for you.
  • You are proficient in the MS Office package (especially PowerPoint and Excel, preferably including macros/VBA).
  • Your written and spoken German and English language skills are excellent.

YOU’RE GOOD AT

You are an independent communication and organizational talent who thinks in networked ways and knows the different stakeholders and their needs. In addition, you have a talent for strategic planning and the innovative implementation of projects in alumni relations. You enjoy networking; you’re curious about new tools, and always like to look into new topics and projects. Solving complex problems is your passion.

  • You have excellent coordination, organization, and improvisation skills and a high degree of personal initiative and responsibility.
  • It’s easy for you to drive multiple projects at once, prioritizing as needed and involving the right contact people at the right time.
  • You have a positive and friendly manner—passion for networking and customer service come to you naturally.
  • You enjoy business topics and innovative projects and have strong quality standards. It’s important to you to overcome boundaries together as a team and look beyond your horizons.
  • You know how to turn new ideas into reality, and even if there’s some resistance, you make a good impression with your professional manner.

Who You'll Work With

You'll be part of the CE People Team, working closely with colleagues in our Zurich, Munich, Düsseldorf, Vienna, Prague, Budapest, and Warsaw offices, as well as with our CE Marketing & Communication Team. The team will support you in learning the ropes, performing your everyday work, and developing professionally at the company. You will also always be able to draw on the experience of your coworkers.
