As a Project Leader or Principal within BCG’s Industrial Goods Practice, you will work alongside some of the world’s top minds in industry-shaping performance improvement in diverse assets. You will lead small, high-impact teams, taking full ownership of project delivery while collaborating with clients to solve strategic issues, develop strategies for change, and gain buy-in for recommendations.
In this role, you will advise clients on broad operational challenges, design innovative solutions, and implement strategies that deliver measurable benefits. Leveraging innovative tools, you will create tailored solutions to optimize operations and build competitive advantage, while contributing to BCG’s intellectual capital and collaborating with diverse teams on complex projects, such as:
Current and full potential asset performance, including identifying cost improvement and production uplift opportunities
Growth and sustaining capital allocation and optimisation
Reliability and safety improvement
End to End Operations and Cost Excellence
Manufacturing optimisation
Operating model review
Digital capabilities, tools & systems
Practice Area
BCG’s Industrial Goods practice serves four broad industrial segments: Automotive & Mobility, Engineered Products & Infrastructure, Materials & Process Industries, and Transportation & Logistics. We help companies in these sectors think beyond the limits of their traditional business models, choose where and how they should add value, and reorganize to defend themselves against new threats and explore new opportunities.
What You'll Do
Bring deep expertise in the Operations topics, such as End-to-end value chain management in physical industries, Procurement, Supply Chain and Manufacturing, that deliver valuable solutions to client organisations across a variety of industries and categories. Our operations practice has a particularly strong footprint in the resources, energy, and consumer sector.
Play a leading role in the growth of our Industrial Goods Practice through case execution, business development, and intellectual property & product creation
Support clients in enhancing their operational capabilities, incl. organisational design, process improvements, capability building; identifying and implementing digital tools and systems, including automation, advanced analytics and Agile.
Execute client work in a case team as a case delivery lead
Proactively pursue knowledge through cutting-edge research, technologies, and methodologies
Provide mentorship and support to more junior consultants to ensure continuous individual development
Support presentation of key findings and recommendations to C-level executives
Contribute to proposals together with the senior leadership of the Industrial Goods Practice
What You'll Bring
A minimum of 6-12 years of relevant consulting experience and/or experience gained in mining operations at a market leading company. Prior consulting experience is essential.
Experience in challenging the “status quo”, creating transparency for clients, helping them understand the implications of their costs, synthesizing & advising how to improve
A track record of project/team leadership and related achievements
A track record of driving and delivering high-value work, (e.g., owning the process, content and day-to-day client or team interactions)
Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm
An ability to think creatively, be adaptable and curious
Preferred advanced degree in Engineering, Science and/or Business Administration from a top-tier university
