What You'll Do

As a member of BCG’s Federal Risk and Security team, the Security Manager supports the Facility Security Officer in security planning, compliance, and coordination in accordance with the US Government and corporate requirements. The Security Manager plays an integral role in ensuring the effective implementation of BCG Fed's Foreign Ownership Control or Influence (FOCI) mitigation agreements as a non-possessing cleared facility. The Security Manager is responsible for executing the tactical day-to-day implementation of the FOCI mitigation agreement requirements and compliance with Industrial Security regulations.

Security Manager tasks include providing guidance on security to Firm personnel, advising projects of relevant security issues and needs, processing personnel clearances, keeping and managing records on relevant security matters, employee trainings / briefings, managing visitor processes and cleared visit requests, ensuring accountability and traceability for security decisions, and carrying out other duties as required in the administration of corporate, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) Rule, and other government security regulation.

As a member of BCG Federal’s Risk and Security team, the Security Manager is expected to be a contributor and thought partner within the function and, as needed, support key cross-functional operational or strategic initiatives.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

In this position, you will be responsible for assisting the daily administration and maintenance of BCG’s Federal security program, as well as implementing and maintaining security best practices across all US Federal Government projects – including those not requiring access to classified information. As the Security Manager, you will:

  • Maintain compliance with BCG Federal's Department of Defense Security Control Agreement (SCA), and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), and NISPOM guidance
    • Work with Security team to write/edit/maintain security plans and procedures
    • Maintain awareness of changing industrial security regulations and how those changes impact site policies, personnel, or projects, being a member of external security/compliance communities a plus
    • Work closely with the Firm’s FSO to conduct security self-inspections (bi-annually), and apply risk mitigation methodologies
    • Input and report PCL, FCL, and contract data accurately in multiple databases
    • Prepare required security materials for annual DCSA facility reviews and inspections
  • Oversee a large volume of employee security clearances- supporting the lifecycle including initiating new investigations, assisting in responding to RFAs and periodic reinvestigations
  • Track security clearance investigations and perform administrative support functions, with a deep knowledge of:
    • Defense Information Security System (DISS)
    • The Intelligence Community Security Clearance Repository (Scattered Castles)
    • National Background Investigation Services (NBIS)
  • Assist the FSO in development and administration of security training for site personnel – including both cleared and non-cleared individuals, including, but not limited to:
    • Initial security indoctrinations
    • Pre/post foreign travel briefings
    • Annual refresher briefings
    • Debriefings for outgoing employees
  • Process visit requests both for cleared visits and all visits between BCG Fed employees and foreign Affiliates
  • Assist case team members in acquiring necessary access and badging to facilitate client site support – such as CACs, SIPR/NIPR access, site badging- through working closely with Security Champions and CORs
  • Manage employee and visitor access control systems
  • Support customer assessments and develop strong relations with customers' and USG facility security officers to ensure compliance with all project requirements and access requirements
  • Support and evolve BCG Federal’s Insider Threat Program as the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO)
  • Build and manage relationships with security points of contact at all US Federal Government clients
  • Implement and maintain security best practices for all US Federal Government projects, including (but not limited to):
    • Data security
    • Device handling
    • Provide crisis management support for specific security breaches / events (e.g. stolen laptop, Insider Threat)


What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business, security, or related field
  • US citizen with an active security clearance at Top Secret or above
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a National Industrial Security Program (NISP) government or contractor security role
  • Industrial Security Professional (ISP) Certification (preferred) or CDSE FSO Program Management Certification (for Possessing or Non-Possessing Facilities)
  • Familiar with Government Contracting requirements such as DD254 compliance and drafting
  • Strong knowledge of NISS, DISS, NBIS, eAPP, Scattered Castles, and as well as forms such as SF86, DD 441, and SF 328
  • In-depth knowledge of NISPOM Rule and DoD requirements and CUI handling practices
  • Fundamental knowledge of export-control and ITAR regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, especially in proofreading
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to modulate work style and apply problem solving skills, and motivate staff
  • Strong presentation skills; able to team with all levels of the organizations including stakeholders
  • Ability to exercise judgment and understanding of how decisions impact overall organization and make decisions based on logic and common sense
  • Ability to exercise judgment in managing confidential/sensitive information; trustworthy
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative; high degree of follow through seeing tasks to completion with the ability to work effectively and adapt in an ever changing, challenging, and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to anticipate alternate solutions and be prepared with contingency plans as needed in a calm and efficient manner
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy with willingness to consistently check and double-check all aspects of the security program with respect to US Government security guidance

Who You'll Work With

You will be part of the BCG Federal Risk and Security team, interfacing regularly with internal functions like operations, finance, contracts, and cybersecurity, IT and directly supporting our Federal case teams and clients.

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market leading benefits package described below.

The base salary range for this role is $110,000-$134,000.

This is an estimated range and specific base salaries within the range depend on factors such as office location, experience, and skill set. It is not common for new BCG employees to be hired at the high-end of the salary range. BCG regularly reviews its ranges to ensure market competitiveness

In addition to your base salary, your total compensation will include a discretionary bonus of up to 16% and a generous retirement contribution that starts at 5% and moves to 10% after 2 years.
