What You'll Do

  • Manage the end-to-end proposal development process for concurrent responses, from bid decision to submission
  • Prepare and communicate proposal schedules, requirements checklists, and volume outlines
  • Facilitate the development of win themes and discriminators
  • Manage writing assignments and monitor data call deadlines
  • Coordinate, communicate, and collaborate with internal departments (BCG consultants, Legal, Finance/Pricing) and external subcontractors/subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Interview stakeholders to gather and submit as needed impactful questions; pro-actively identify and develop proposal-related questions
  • Schedule and lead proposal milestone meetings such as the kickoff, color team reviews, debriefs, and strategy/solution sessions
  • Assemble and review proposal drafts, edit material, and ensure final formatting and layout of proposals; prepare final content as editor to ensure clarity, consistent voice, inclusion of win themes, and compliance with instructions and evaluation factors
  • Coordinate final assembly and submittal of electronic (or paper-copy) proposals
  • Coach pursuit teams on BCG’s proposal development processes, tools, and best practices, ensuring consistent application of standards, effective use of assets, and continuous capability-building
  • Support maintenance of bid and proposal library on SharePoint with case vignettes, past-performance surveys, bid questions, and other content from past proposals
  • Coordinate graphic development as necessary
  • Assess the degree to which proposal content is compliant and compelling
  • Other proposal and administrative duties as assigned
  • Analyze solicitations, sources-sought notices, requests for information (RFIs), and requests for proposals/quotes (RFPs/RFQs/RFXs); prepare lead summaries and forward to BCG leadership for further review


What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience and success managing a wide range of U.S. government proposals
  • APMP or Shipley certification and understanding of industry proposal best practices
  • Familiarity with U.S. federal procurement practices including basic understanding of FAR requirements and standard federal solicitation format
  • Experience with entire proposal development process, including a demonstrated ability to produce compliant and compelling proposals
  • Preference for experience at a large professional services firm
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office products with strong proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, including basic MS Word Desktop Publishing capabilities
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous development and learning, with a particular focus on identifying and integrating AI-based tools to enhance proposal workflows, drive efficiency, and support innovation in pursuit management
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent writing skills; experience reviewing, writing, and editing proposal content
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining focus on the big picture
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a proposal content library
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. federal government security clearance

  • Managing up to senior leadership and managing multi-level teams of writers and SMEs working against government deadlines to meet complex requirements
  • Demonstrating an ability to juggle multiple competing demands in a high-pressure, dynamic environment
  • Working with and coaching teams of varying levels of experience and a wide range of expertise on diverse topics from education to infrastructure to operations and more
  • Innovating and finding resourceful solutions – you overcome barriers and find a way to make things work
  • Working with subject matter experts and business leaders to refine non-technical sections of proposal content, including resumes and past performance
  • Shepherding proposals from initial concept and bid decision to consistent production of compliant and compelling proposals through iterative writing and reviews
  • Handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Working under deadline, working well under pressure, and working extended hours as required
  • Implementing proposal management best practices and educating teams on them; yet being open to adjusting ways of working where it will benefit the team you are supporting



Who You'll Work With

You'll be part of the BCG US Government Proposal Team, interfacing regularly with consulting team members and with internal functions such as contracts, client development, finance, and operations.

Compensation Information:

The base salary range for this role is $111,000-$135,700. Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCG’s Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below.
