What You'll Do

The Greater China Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is a senior position in GC finance organization and in local system management. Key aspects of the role:

  • Lead the development of financial plans aligned with company strategy.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis (e.g., variance analysis, profitability analysis, scenario modeling) to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Commercial finance/ HR team to provide financial insights, support strategic initiatives, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to senior leadership for decision-making.
  • Enhance financial planning processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial outputs.
  • Drive local / Regional / Global finance initiatives and support in driving business transformation initiatives.

You’re good at:

1. Decision Support

  • Build robust, all-encompassing FP&A analytical framework to deliver consistent, actionable support for routine business operations and decision-making.
  • Deliver data-driven insights and in-depth analysis to empower GC leadership in strategic business management and execution.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to Local Partner group, providing tailored financial guidance and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Define, monitor, and refine key business metrics; proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities to inform leadership recommendations.
  • Own end-to-end business performance analysis and reporting; proactively enhance reporting effectiveness as the business evolves and scales.
  • Continuously streamline FP&A processes (e.g., budgeting, forecasting, reporting) via tools/technology to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
  • Ensure FP&A deliverables comply with internal financial policies, regulatory requirements, and global accounting standards.
  • Align analytical insights with long-term business strategy to support strategic investment and growth decisions.

2. Financial Planning

  • Lead the end-to-end planning cycle, own planning outcomes, and ensure alignment with GG priorities and regional/global guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with People team on output-driven capacity planning and with Functional Heads on functional budgets/forecasts.
  • Proactively facilitate cross-departmental financial alignment, resolving queries and providing actionable guidance.
  • Optimize efficient support models for estimation and planning workflows.
  • Regularly forecast and analyze Consultant billability, compare actuals vs plans, and investigate variance root causes.
  • Proactively identify and evaluate opportunities to drive cost efficiency across operations.

3. Team Development

  • Lead, mentor and develop the FP&A team, enhancing technical and strategic capabilities through targeted coaching.
  • Establish clear team goals and accountability, driving cohesive best practices and sharing knowledge.
  • Set direction for training, development and mentorship across the system finance function.


What You'll Bring

1. Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA, CPA, or ACCA qualifications preferred.
  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, with a track record of delivering actionable insights.
  • 5+ years of people management experience, with a proven ability to lead teams and drive process improvements.
  • Prior experience in a professional services environment is highly desirable.

2. Technical & Functional Skills

  • Proficiency in digital analytics tools (Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI) and financial systems (Business Objects, Oracle/SAP, Hyperion); familiarity with Python and OpenAI tools is strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of accounting principles, financial planning methodologies, and best practices in FP&A.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling, business-focused narratives.

3. Behavioral Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering value to internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to prioritize tasks in dynamic environments.
  • Sound judgment in managing workflows and navigating ambiguous situations, with a proactive approach to driving change and optimization.


Who You'll Work With

You will sit in Finance team in Shanghai. You will closely work with your line managers and GC partners and will have a few direct reports.
