What You'll Do
BCG X is the innovation and technology arm of BCG. We are seeking a strong candidate with experience and passion to join our Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role will be located in our Lisbon hub and will be supporting our fast-growing global business model.
As a Global FP&A Senior Finance Analyst in BCG X you will join a fast paced and creative team who drives strategic planning globally and supports our regional teams delivering our overall strategic and financial objectives, in conjunction with local markets and offices.
This begins with reporting and analysis, using transactional-level details at times, to monitor and review performance against targets and offer insights that will guide decision-making across a variety of stakeholders. This includes serving the Functional leaders as first point of contact on all finance matters and teaming with all three regional and Delivery X finance teams.
The BCG X Global Finance team is a critical business partner to BCG X Senior Leadership, providing high value financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making process. As a member of that team, you will enable and monitor the delivery of the strategy globally, and have an opportunity to shape our processes, procedures, and system tools as we continue to grow. As such, you will need to operate at both a strategic and tactical level to gather financial data and meet critical deadlines, including regular financial planning reporting deliverables.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning & Analysis:
- Coordinate and execute the strategic multi-year financial planning, annual planning, and bi-annual reforecasting processes, ensuring alignment with BCG X's strategic objectives and BCGs long term financial objectives.
- Proactively partner with Regional Finance Directors and Global Functional Leads in forecasting operating costs and capacity outlook.
- Leverage Global and Regional Finance teams to accurately forecast revenue.
- Explore new analytical areas, create value added frameworks and reports that deliver accurate, transparent and robust insights to support strategic decision making.
- Work closely with the financial reporting team and the financial operations team to deliver such recurrent reports and analysis.
- Complete and analyze various reports, focusing on: business metrics, monthly results and review of the P&L to identify variances against plan
- Create and present ad hoc analysis to Senior Leadership to convey key cost efforts and focus areas for the forecast.
- Learn, adapt, and leverage function-specific digital and automation tools, enhancing quality of output and focusing on value added analysis.
- Perform other duties and work on other special projects or initiatives, as necessary
- Budget Controls:
- Support the budgeting process, partnering with Global Functional Leads, establishing and enforcing budget controls to maintain discipline across the organization.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure all budget proposals align with strategic priorities and financial constraints.
- Implement and refine budgeting tools and methodologies, ensuring a streamlined, effective, and transparent budgeting cycle.
- Controllership and Spend Management over BCG X’s global (central) costs.
- Month end Process:
- Proactively review operating expenses for accuracy and coordinate with accounting department on booking of monthly reclasses and accruals
- Review and organize large data sets leveraging Excel and Tableau to prepare month-end results to inform stakeholders of spend incurred
- Meet with Global Department Heads to review variances to plan and identify potential cost savings for their department
- Respond to ad hoc requests from Senior Leadership, Department Heads, and Business Partners

- Collaborating with a wide variety of business partners, including other global functions, regional teams, internal teams across BCG, and the firm’s corporate office.
- Creating and evolving insightful, efficient analysis in response to business needs
- Completing and responding to ad hoc requests in a timely manner
- Ensuring adoption of finance policies and highlighting potential risks.
- Supporting BCG X leadership and other internal key customers by performing analysis and effectively communicating key takeaways and recommendations.
- Providing training to internal customers.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or Math
- 4-6 years of finance-related experience
- Prior experience in a professional services environment a plus
- Collaborative team-player with strong interpersonal skills, willingness to pitch in and help out wherever needed, and proven ability to cooperate with people at all levels and build positive, lasting relationships
- Strong problem solving, analytical skills, and judgment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Curious and inquisitive mind, always looking for ways to learn and improve

Who You'll Work With
As a member of the BCG X Global FP&A team, the Senior Finance Analyst will work with and be the point-of-contact across various teams in both BCG X and BCG. These include regional and global finance teams, global functions as HR, IT, Marketing, among others. Additionally, the successful candidate will also engage with the Global BCG Financial Analysis team on all planning matters. A successful individual will need to be a true team player, capable of functioning well in a global and multicultural setting, and able to work together with a wide range of individuals of all levels –from senior firm leaders to junior analysts.
