#jointhegroup

Since 1998 business@school is an educational initiative of the international management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG). The goal is to give students practical business knowledge and key qualifications for their future professional life, as well as awaken their entrepreneurial spirit. Each year, around 1,000 senior high school students at around 70 schools in Germany, Austria, Italy, Great Britain, Albania, and Switzerland participate in business@school. They are supported by their teachers and around 450 coaches from over 20 partner companies and BCG. With the additional video competition, the b@s videochallenge, BCG also promotes creativity and media literacy among young people in the digital space.

What You'll Do

Since 1998, business@school, the educational initiative of Boston Consulting Group, has enabled high school students to experience business and entrepreneurship hands-on—together with dedicated teachers, partner companies, and a strong network. With the b@s videochallenge, we also promote creativity and media literacy among young people in the digital space. In this role, you will help shape our initiative’s public image and communication, from strategy and planning to creative execution. You’ll create content and stories that engage diverse audiences and present our offers authentically and professionally across all channels.

Specifically, you will:

  • Cover all of our events such as pitch events, award ceremonies, and workshops for websites, newsletters, and social media, producing, editing, and publishing text, image, and video content
  • Create original content (texts, photos, reels, and posts) for social media channels, including LinkedIn and Instagram
  • Maintain and further develop our online presence, including community management, content monitoring, and coordination of external contributions
  • Write and edit press releases, website articles, and partner news, coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Plan and maintain editorial and communication calendars from topic research to stakeholder alignment
  • Prepare communication materials and talking points for partner companies, coaches, and speakers, ensuring a consistent and professional overall narrative
  • Develop creative communication and marketing ideas to increase visibility and reach, especially for b@s videochallenge, engaging new target groups in an authentic way
  • Coordinate external contributions, review materials for consistency, and manage approval processes
  • Be present on site at events to capture authentic content, taking photos, preparing interviews and soundbites, and at certain events coordinating film teams and a photographer
  • Design formats and coordinate postproduction with freelance film teams and the photographer
  • Monitor and evaluate communication performance, analyzing reach, engagement, and media coverage, and deriving recommendations for continuous improvement

What You'll Bring

  • You hold a university degree in communications, media studies, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
  • You’ve gained initial practical experience in public relations, social media, or editorial work (e.g., in an internship or working student position).
  • You have a strong sense of language and enthusiasm for writing for diverse audiences.
  • You have a solid understanding of journalistic writing and storytelling, clearly distinguishing it from advertising or campaign communication.
  • You’ve gained experience using social media (LinkedIn, Instagram) and have a good eye for topics, visuals, and formats.
  • You display a structured, independent, and reliable working style, even under time pressure.
  • You are open to and experienced in using AI tools for idea generation, text optimization, or workflow efficiency.
  • You’re proficient in MS Office and have experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Illustrator).
  • Knowledge of content management systems (e.g., Typo3), CRM systems, or social media management tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Meta Suite) is an advantage.
  • Your written and spoken German and English language skills are excellent.

Who You'll Work With

You’ll be part of a dedicated and motivated team based in Munich and Düsseldorf. Collaboration within the team is built on trust, mutual support, and regular exchange of ideas and experiences. You’ll report directly to the business@school Director, who will guide you as you take on your responsibilities, supported by colleagues who will help you quickly get up to speed.
