What You'll Do

The IT Service Specialist plays a vital role in enabling BCG’s Chicago office by delivering exceptional, high-touch technology support to our consulting teams and business services staff. You will be part of a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where responsiveness, professionalism, and sound judgment are essential.

This is a full-time, in-office role (5 days per week). Consistent on-site presence is critical to providing timely, effective support and to building strong relationships across the office.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Providing best-in-class IT support to case teams and office staff, both proactively and in response to issues, with a strong focus on user experience
  • Supporting a broad range of technologies, including laptops, mobile devices, video conferencing systems, printers, standing desks, and office infrastructure
  • Preparing, configuring, imaging, deploying, and maintaining end-user devices in line with BCG standards
  • Troubleshooting issues across Windows and macOS environments, Android and iOS devices, Microsoft 365, VPNs, and network connectivity
  • Maintaining local technology environments to improve reliability, security, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
  • Coordinating with external vendors for the repair and maintenance of office technology
  • Providing on-site technical support for meetings, events, and office initiatives
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with end users as well as local, regional, and global IT teams regarding issue status and resolution
  • Logging, tracking, and analyzing incidents in ServiceNow to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Managing hardware and software assets, including inventory tracking and configuration compliance
  • Creating and maintaining documentation, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures
  • Participating in local, regional, and global IT initiatives, including evaluating and piloting new technologies
  • Supporting general office initiatives as needed

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support, service desk, or similar role
  • Experience supporting Windows and macOS operating systems, Android and iOS devices, Microsoft 365, VPNs, MFA, Intune/Azure and network connectivity
  • Ability to diagnose issues, propose solutions, and escalate effectively when appropriate
  • Familiarity with automation tools, process improvement initiatives, and emerging technologies (including AI-enabled tools)
  • Foundational knowledge of PC and laptop hardware, software, telecommunications, mobile devices, networking, and server administration
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • High standards for accuracy, follow-through, and customer satisfaction
  • Willingness and ability to perform hands-on work, including lifting and moving equipment and using basic tools

In the US, we have a compensation transparency approach.

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market leading benefits package described below.

  • The base salary range for this role in Chicago is $67,000.00 - $75,000.00

This is an estimated range, however, specific base salaries within the range depend on various factors such as experience and skill set. It is not common for new BCG employees to be hired at the high-end of the salary range. BCG regularly reviews its ranges to ensure market competitiveness.

In addition to your base salary, your total compensation will include a bonus of up to 12% and a generous retirement contribution that starts at 5% and moves to 10% after 2 years.
