What You'll Do

Be part of a team that is transforming BCGs Data Landscape! We are building a centralized Data Lake that will simplify and automate information delivery— further providing advanced insights analytics and AI to support decision making. To date, the team has launched and operationalized several global scale data products, enhancing how our leaders engage in information to manage the business.

The Senior Manager - Data Engineer role will be an integral part of an Agile team focused on delivering best in class data engineering practices. Under the general supervision of senior management and the Data Ingestion & Analyst Chapter Lead in the Enterprise Data Product Portfolio, you will be working with key customers to deliver timely and accurate data ingestion pipelines in a secure manner. You are expected to provide guidance on proper data ingestion and integration design, ensuring that our enterprise architectural guidelines are met, and the appropriate support model is in place for production deployments. This role will work in a multi-functional agile squad and support the product owner. You will also be supporting the Chapter Lead and other team members of the Data Ingestion chapter in people management and proof-of-concept activities related to Data Ingestion and Integration.



What You'll Bring

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Engineering or a similar field

• 7-9+ years of Data Ingestion, Integration and ETL relevant experience.

• Essential: Experience in loading data into warehouse/ ODS environment from diverse sources and formats

• Essential: Experience in AWS Glue, DBT and Fivetran

• Essential: Strong programming/ scripting skills in Python and SQL

• Essential: Experience working with APIs, Semi-Structured and Unstructured datasets.

• Essential: Lead R&D efforts to find solutions for data integration requirements not addressed by existing technology standards

• Essential: Develop metrics that showcase the flow of data across the organization

• Essential: Experience in data modelling and relational database design

• Essential: Experience in data platforms: Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL

• Essential: Design strategies for new data ingestion requests, including logical and physical data modelling

• Preferred: Experience in AWS data platforms and integration offerings

YOU’RE GOOD AT

You have experience in data warehousing, data modelling, and the building of data integration pipelines. You are well versed in data ingestion methods, such as extract and load techniques through scripting and/or tooling, streaming, API consumption and replication. You are good in analysing performance bottlenecks and providing enhancement recommendations; you have a passion for customer service and a desire to learn and grow as a professional and a technologist.

Viewed as subject matter expert for stakeholders, possessing in-depth knowledge and specialized technical skill set

• Able to work independently with minimal to no supervision.

• Proactively identify and independently solve non-routine problems by applying expertise.

• Perform research of viable technical and/or non-technical solutions

• Develop strategies for data ingestion (from multiple sources) into Snowflake using FiveTran, AWS Glue, Python, Snowpipes, snowtasks etc.

• Design and implement data pipelines to feed data models for subsequent consumption.

• Actively monitor and resolve user support issues, working closely with your functional squad and other squads as part of the chapter.

• Develop and maintain architectural standards, best practices, and measure compliance

• ETL and datawarehousing concepts

Communication, interpersonal and teaming skills

• Works positively and collaboratively with others and within team; builds strong and lasting relationships.

• Working and partnering with remote team members in different time zones

• Experience on data visualization and / or ability to present data analytics in an insightful manner for the leadership will be an added plus

• Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment.

• Familiarity on Agile methodology is a must.

• Strong organizational, people, and process management skills

• Ability to contribute to multiple work streams at once and prioritize efforts accordingly.

• Demonstrated ability to drive projects to scheduled conclusion
