What You'll Do

BCG's Southeast Asia People team is looking for a seasoned HR Operations Manager to own and elevate our regional HR operations backbone. broad scope across six SEA markets - Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand is central to how BCG delivers an exceptional employee experience at scale. You will be the operational engine behind our people processes: building policy frameworks that are locally compliant and globally consistent, running a high-performing HR ops function, and partnering with Leadership, Legal, Finance, and Specialty Business HR teams to keep BCG SEA ahead of regulatory and organizational complexity.

This role suits an HR professional who thrives at the intersection of precision and people — someone who can zoom in on process detail and zoom out to advise senior stakeholders with confidence.

Your main responsibilities in HR Operations will include, but are not limited to:

HR Operations Leadership and Process Excellence

  • Own the end-to-end HR operations lifecycle across all BST and CT cohorts in SEA, establishing clear SLAs and accountability frameworks.
  • Lead the design, review, continuous improvement of people policies across six SEA markets, ensuring compliance with local labour law and alignment with BCG global standards.
  • Build and maintain a suite of standardised HR processes — proactively identifying opportunities to simplify, automate, or streamline — through benchmarking, process audits, and cross-functional feedback loops.
  • Drive data integrity across all HR systems and records; establish and monitor HR operations metrics dashboards to surface performance gaps early and report with confidence to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead HR operations project delivery — from scoping through to implementation — including system enhancements, process re-engineering, communication and compliance-driven initiatives.

Benefits Administration and Total Rewards Operations

  • Oversee the end-to-end administration of employee benefits across the SEA region, including medical, insurance, leave entitlements, and statutory benefits specific to each market.
  • Manage annual benefits renewal cycles in partnership with Finance and external vendors — including benchmarking, cost modelling, and employee communication.
  • Ensure market-specific statutory compliance in collaboration with Payroll and Finance teams.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex benefits queries and exceptions, applying sound judgement and knowledge of local legislation.
  • Proactively identify gaps in benefits offerings relative to market practice and present business cases for enhancements with supporting data.

Specialty Business Alignment

  • Lead HR operations integration and alignment across BCG's Specialty Businesses in SEA, ensuring they operate within BCG's policy and compliance frameworks.
  • Act as the primary HR operations partner for Specialty Business HR counterparts — communicating policy changes, supporting onboarding of new cohorts, and resolving operational issues.
  • Identify structural differences in HR needs across cohorts and design pragmatic, compliant solutions in close collaboration with Legal and Global HR.

Contingent Workforce Management

  • Shape and govern BCG SEA's contingent worker model — covering contractual frameworks, contract lifecycle management, onboarding, staffing, feedback collation, extensions, and exits.
  • Partner with MDPs, Legal, and Finance to manage risk and compliance obligations associated with contingent engagements across different geographies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of contractor regulations across SEA markets and ensure BCG's models evolve accordingly.

People Leadership and Stakeholder Management

  • Manage and develop a team of HR Operations professionals — providing clear direction, regular coaching, and meaningful career development support.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with BCG Partners, MDPs, BST Functional Leaders, Finance, Legal, and AP HR counterparts.
  • Serve as a confident HR voice in leadership forums, presenting metrics, risks, and recommendations clearly and with executive presence.

What Great Looks Like in This Role

  • You run HR operations like a high-trust service function — your team delivers consistently, SLAs are met, and stakeholders know they can count on you.
  • You make complexity manageable — you have worked across multiple markets and know how to hold regulatory nuance while keeping processes clean.
  • You are a steady presence in ambiguity — you move forward thoughtfully, exercise sound judgement, and know when to escalate versus when to own.
  • You develop your team — people in your orbit grow, feel seen, and do their best work.
  • You have a bias for simplification — you are always asking whether something can be done better, and you follow through.

What You'll Bring

Experience and Expertise

  • 10 to 15 or more years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a senior HR operations or HR shared services leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in benefits administration and total rewards operations across multiple SEA markets.
  • Solid working knowledge of employment legislation and statutory requirements across SEA markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand.
  • Proven track record of designing and improving HR processes in a complex, matrixed, professional services or consulting environment.
  • Experience managing contingent or non-traditional workforce models is an advantage.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Stakeholder gravitas — able to advise, influence, and push back with senior leaders, partners, and functional heads across cultures.
  • People leadership — you build psychological safety, give direct feedback, and grow the people around you.
  • Analytical precision — comfortable with data, dashboards, and building the case from evidence.
  • Project management rigor — highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
  • Collaborative by default, independent when needed — you know how to move things forward without being chased.

Systems and Tools

  • Confident user of HRIS platforms, with Workday preferred; able to extract, clean, and interpret HR data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint for executive reporting.
  • Comfortable with digital collaboration tools such as Slack, Teams, Egnyte, and Zoom.
  • Genuine interest in HR technology and AI-enabled process improvement.

Who You'll Work With

You will sit within the SEA People team and report directly to the SEA BST HR & HR Ops Director. Your day-to-day will connect you across BCG Partners, MDPs, and BST Functional Leaders across all six SEA markets; AP HR for alignment on regional and global policy; Finance and Legal for risk management, compliance, and benefits governance; Specialty Business HR counterparts for operational integration; and external vendors and statutory bodies for benefits administration and regulatory reporting.
