As a Legal team member, you will work across BCG teams and functions to support our business strategy, provide counsel and expertise, drive legal innovation, and leverage the power of new ways of working.
As Senior Legal Counsel – Iberia & South America (ISA), you will be a core member of the Employment Centre of Expertise (COE) within BCG’s Global Legal Team, serving as the lead employment law advisor and first point of contact for BCG’s offices across ISA.
In this role, you will:
- Provide end-to-end employment law support across the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, termination, mobility and immigration, disputes, investigations, regulatory matters, global and local forms and approaches, and advisory support on individual employee issues;
- Act as a trusted advisor to HR and business leadership, helping them navigate complex and sensitive people matters and balance legal risk with business priorities;
- Coordinate closely with the People teams in ISA to ensure a consistent approach to policies and decision-making;
- Team successfully across BCG and integrate fully into BCG’s Global Legal Team to resolve or support resolution of complex HR and employment legal issues (both internally and matters where it could interface with external parties);
- Partner with other members of BCG’s employment COE on global projects;
- Contribute to developing and maintaining Legal Team intellectual property, including template forms, and other materials;
- Work with and manage external counsel; and
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
In all cases, BCG’s Senior Legal Counsel - ISA will be an exceptional lawyer, able to efficiently deliver high quality work, and will have substantial experience of advising on commercial, strategic, and outcome-based solutions to people issues.

- Comfortable in taking on a collaborative advisory role, rather than fixed on certain outcomes;
- Talent for absorbing new skill sets and areas of expertise quickly and comfortably and the flexibility to deal with a diverse international set of stakeholders and advisors;
- The ability to quickly comprehend complex sets of laws and regulations and interpret those laws within the context of BCG’s global policies and values;
- Perform successfully and produce results in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, client-oriented environment; and,
- Use AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency while maintaining high-quality, risk-based advice
- Have the interpersonal skills necessary to build relationships throughout a loosely structured, highly collaborative, and consensus-driven organization.
What You'll Bring
- Spanish qualified employment lawyer, with deep strategic and operational employment law expertise in an international organization and experience advising across different jurisdictions;
- 8+ years PQE of practicing labor and employment law (candidates outside of this range will also be considered if they can demonstrate they meet the overall requirements of the role);
- Prior in-house experience preferred within a complex international organization, preferably professional services or similar industry;
- Comfortable presenting to both large and small audiences;
- Experienced at managing outside legal advisers and other providers of expert advice on employee matters; and
- English and Spanish fluency; fluency in any other language is a plus.
Who You'll Work With
A variety of cohorts and functions across the firm, including local and global HR stakeholders, members of the BCG Global Legal Team, Immigration/Mobility, Compliance, Finance, Tax and the Partnership. You will report into the Employment COE within the Global Legal Team, with your direct manager based out of Germany and your skip level manager based out of the US.
