BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.

What You'll Do

You will lead the engineering discipline that underpins BCG’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring Configuration Item (CI) data is consistently ingested, accurate, current, and reliable at enterprise scale. You will translate governance policies into operational reality—building and sustaining the pipelines, automation, tooling, and controls that ensure CMDB data is complete, consistent, and correct in practice.

In this role, you will own the operational sustainability of CMDB data quality across BCG’s asset estate. You will drive automation, expand cloud coverage, and modernize ingestion pipelines while partnering closely with platform, cloud, and productivity teams. You will help shape engineering direction, scale standards, and embed CMDB health as a measurable and sustained outcome.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead CMDB reliability engineering across ingestion, data quality, observability, and lifecycle management
  • Run and evolve data ingestion pipelines across ServiceNow CMDB, Syncfish, Jamf, Intune, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Drive migration from custom pipelines to native connectors, ensuring controlled cutover and validated data parity
  • Build and scale automation-first operations, reducing manual intervention and improving reliability by design
  • Establish and monitor CMDB health metrics, including data freshness, duplication, latency, and lifecycle compliance
  • Implement automated data quality controls and lifecycle enforcement across all CI classes
  • Ensure integrity of CI relationships and governance of cloud asset data and tagging standards
  • Develop scalable remediation tooling for CI consolidation, retirement, archival, and deletion
  • Expand Syncfish cloud coverage to achieve full representation of relevant public cloud asset types
  • Partner with the CMDB Owner to translate governance into enforceable engineering controls
  • Communicate risks, progress, and recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership forums
  • Contribute to team capability building, coaching engineers on SRE principles, automation, and pipeline design

What You'll Bring

  • You bring 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, data engineering, or a related operational engineering discipline
  • You bring significant experience with ITIL concepts, particularly Configuration Management and Asset Management practices
  • You bring experience with Infrastructure as Code or CI/CD, data ingestion pipelines, ETLs, or integration workflows at scale, including error handling, retry logic, observability, and lifecycle management
  • You bring experience with ServiceNow CMDB at a senior engineering level, including CI class models, discovery tooling, data ingestion mechanisms, and data quality management
  • You bring knowledge of public cloud providers and the behaviours of microservices-based environments
  • You bring strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills, with the ability to represent engineering clearly to non-engineering audiences
  • You bring experience working across organisational boundaries and leading delivery through influence rather than formal authority
  • You bring experience with ServiceNow integrations, including import sets, Transform Maps, or integration APIs
  • You bring familiarity with Syncfish or equivalent CMDB synchronisation and discovery tooling
  • You bring experience working within product or agile/squad-based operating models
  • You bring ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or Certified Implementation Specialist certification (desirable)
  • You bring knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO and NIST as they relate to asset governance, control evidence, and compliance reporting

Who You'll Work With

You will work within the SRE Enablement team, partnering closely with the CMDB Owner within the ServiceNow organization to translate governance into scalable engineering execution. You will collaborate with cloud, platform, and personal productivity teams to ensure consistent and reliable asset data across BCG’s environment.

You will engage regularly with senior stakeholders and leadership forums, contributing engineering insights, communicating risks, and aligning on priorities. As part of a global, cross-functional network, you will help embed standards, share best practices, and scale CMDB reliability as a sustained capability.
