Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation-inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact.
To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.
What You'll Do
We are looking for a passionate, senior Product Owner with deep Agile expertise to lead GovView — the US Federal business’s dedicated equivalent of BCG Inc’s ClientView. GovView is the single source of truth (SSOT) for opportunities and projects for Federal case teams, spanning the full Lead to Cash process: pipeline management, contracting, risk management, and invoicing.
As a strategic, customer-centric leader within the Client Team Portfolio, you will lead a squad to define, prioritize, and deliver against a product vision tailored to the Federal business, working collaboratively with your Product Team Lead to translate business priorities into a clear, actionable backlog.
A key part of the role is maintaining close partnership with both the Client Team (owners of BCG Inc’s ClientView) and the US Federal team. You will ensure GovView stays anchored to core ClientView principles, critical because MDPs move fluidly between the commercial and Federal businesses and need a consistent, seamless experience across both platforms, while also ensuring GovView captures the compliance requirements and unique use cases specific to the Federal practice.
As a Director, you will operate with a high degree of strategic independence, drive alignment across senior stakeholders, and serve as a recognized leader within the Product & Technology organization, mentoring peers and contributing to the continued evolution of the Client Team Portfolio.
Among your responsibilities, you will:
Deliver business results and customer value
- Continuously deliver customer value each sprint, with measurable impact on BCG’s US Federal commercial operations
- Define and track specific, measurable KPIs for your Squad aligned to GovView’s strategic objectives
- Provide strategic day-to-day direction to your squad, owning the product roadmap across all GovView workstreams — sequencing MVP delivery, planning future builds and enhancements, and ensuring priorities are clearly translated into sprint-level execution with strong delivery expectations
- Drive end-to-end ownership of GovView as a net-new product build, leading the development of the MVP and establishing the foundation for future enhancements, with a strategic roadmap that spans all workstreams and scales with the needs of the Federal business
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners across the full ClientView program, including Pipeline, Costing, and Investments, as well as POs responsible for integrations, to ensure GovView is fully connected and consistent across the Lead to Cash journey
- Champion innovation, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the GovView product and advance BCG’s US Federal commercial capabilities
Serve as the voice of the customer and the US Federal business
- Maintain an unwavering customer-centric mindset, representing the distinct needs and regulatory constraints of BCG’s US Federal stakeholders
- Lead continuous discovery and user research to deeply understand federal business context, user intent, solution objectives, and expected impact
- Translate complex federal business and compliance requirements into clear user stories and actionable problem statements, ensuring shared understanding across the Squad and with senior stakeholders
- Act as the final authority on acceptance testing before each sprint release, ensuring all development delivers genuine value to federal end-users and stakeholders
- Proactively seek and synthesize customer feedback to inform and evolve the GovView roadmap
- Facilitate product demos, embedding a culture of real-time customer feedback within the Squad
- Serve as the primary communicator for GovView with senior stakeholders, including US Federal leadership and Product & Technology leadership
- Build a broad network across BCG’s US Federal practice, BST functions, and the wider Client Team Portfolio to drive cross-functional alignment
Build relationships and drive strategic alignment across BCG
- Influence and drive objectives cross-functionally, shaping portfolio strategy and gaining senior support for product decisions
- Manage squad dynamics with authority and empathy, motivating Squad members through challenging circumstances and fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture
- Actively mentor and develop junior Product Owners and Product Analysts across the portfolio
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability, setting a positive example for peers and the broader team
- Serve as the escalation point for support issues related to GovView, assessing risk and prioritizing fixes appropriately
- Assess risk of deploying hotfixes vs. incorporating into a sprint release, with particular sensitivity to federal data integrity and process continuity
- Oversee support processes and enforce best practices, consistently evaluating opportunities to reduce support burden through product improvement
Ensure Business Continuity of the GovView Product
- Communicate issue resolution clearly and promptly to end users and senior stakeholders
- Define the teaming model for GovView — this is a new product and the squad structure, roles, and ways of working are yet to be established; you will play a central role in shaping how the team is built and how it operates
- Provide frequent, developmental feedback to team members and actively support a culture of continuous learning; drive performance management processes including goal setting, regular check-ins, and reviews
- Perform this role with the highest level of integrity, generating trust and protecting BCG and client interests; handle confidential Federal data responsibly and maintain appropriate security precautions at all times
- Foster a positive, inclusive working environment that values diverse perspectives and brings out the best in every team member
HOW YOU’LL LEAD

- Operating as a strategic, senior product leader who shapes product vision and drives alignment at the most senior levels of the organization
- Being a human-centered thinker who starts with people and thoughtfully considers the usefulness and usability of everything you create, with deep appreciation for the unique context of federal clients
- Navigating ambiguity and complexity, converting vague requests into clear business objectives, requirements, and delivery roadmaps
- Leading and influencing without formal authority, building trust across senior consulting staff, BST leadership, and technical teams
- Facilitating high-stakes requirement discovery sessions that surface business context, compliance considerations, user intent, and expected impact
- Identifying interdependencies across teams and products, and facilitating difficult conversations around prioritization with confidence and diplomatic skill
- Communicating with transparency and clarity at all levels, from squad team members to senior BCG leadership
- Proactively seeking innovation and driving continuous improvement across product, process, and ways of working
- Demonstrating adaptability and agility in the face of changing federal business priorities and evolving stakeholder needs
- Mentoring and developing others, actively contributing to building a world-class product organization at BCG
