What You'll Do
The HR Senior Specialist will provide generalist HR support to BCG Canada staff in a client-service oriented manner including employee onboarding, benefits and compensation administration, policy interpretation, maintenance of employee files, HR communications and more. You will regularly interact with employees in our Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal offices, NAMR teams, and other global HR teams.
As a member of BCG’s HR team, we will lean on you to help us attract, develop, deploy, and retain the best talent in the market. We will work together to manage BCGers employment life cycle and the day-to-day operations of HR.
YOU’RE GOOD AT:
- Collaborating with the Canada HR team, broader Consulting Experience Team and BST to provide support for staff including on-boarding, off-boarding, career development, life events, transfers, employee relations, and policy interpretation
- Interpreting, implementing and answering inquiries related to HR benefits, payroll, policies and procedures, while ensuring consistency and thoughtfully navigating grey areas
- Assisting with the Diversity, Inclusion, Mental Health and Wellness programming across Canada
- Managing the Canada BST Co-op program including process management with schools and special programs, screening candidates, coordinating interview, selection and offer processes, managing onboarding and general work term experience
- Overseeing employee leave programs, such as unpaid leaves of absence (ULOA), maternity and paternity leaves, and other types of leaves as needed
- Benefits coordination (traditional, PSRF, telemedicine, executive health) including: enrolments, changes, terminations, handling inquiries and issues, producing reports, and auditing invoices
- Creating and maintaining a variety of HR reports including immigration tracker, people changes, attrition, compliance training, overtime, vacation, payroll, government requirements, and others
- Contributing to a variety of projects, programs, events, and process improvements. Actively participating in the broader HR community including regional/global initiatives and projects
- Managing maintenance of Canada HR intranet pages and orientation deck
- Handling maintenance of HRIS and employee files
- Coordinating communication of various payments to Payroll
- Other duties, as assigned
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or related field strongly preferred
- Three+ years of human resources experience, preferably in a high touch environment with professional staff
- Familiarity with Quebec, Ontario, and Alberta employment standards
- Computer proficiency in Windows, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Strong analytical abilities required
- Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through is a must; perform tasks with high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
- Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle competing priorities and work effectively in a challenging, fast- paced environment
- Recognize and maintain highest levels of confidentiality
- Must perform well under pressure, take initiative, and handle multiple tasks at the same time with strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop effective working relationships with staff while demonstrating a positive, personal and professional image; highly responsive
- Ability to analyze and present data in a meaningful way

Human resources team members manage the life cycle of all BCG employees from hiring top talent and developing their skills to rewarding their contributions and supporting career progression and mobility. This role is part of the Canada HR team with members in Calgary, Montreal, and Toronto and supports consulting, business services, and other alternate businesses’ staff.

Compensation
Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market leading benefits package described below.
The base salary range for this role is $88,000-$109,000.
This is an estimated range and specific base salaries within the range depend on factors such as office location, experience, and skill set. It is not common for new BCG employees to be hired at the high-end of the salary range. BCG regularly reviews its ranges to ensure market competitiveness.
In addition to your base salary, your total compensation will include a discretionary bonus of up to 12% and a generous retirement contribution that starts at 5% and moves to 10% after 2 years.
