What You'll Do

The HR Specialist – GBF (Temporary) provides operational and administrative support across the employee lifecycle for the North America region. This role ensures the timely execution of core HR processes, maintains accurate employee records, supports compliance requirements, and delivers high-quality employee experience through responsive HR service and coordination. The position serves as a key member of the HR Delivery team, partnering with HR colleagues, employees, managers, and vendors to support day-to-day HR activities.

HR Operations & Employee Administration

  • Audit and maintain employee personnel files for North America employees to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Process employee data changes in Workday, including job, organizational, and personal information updates while maintaining data integrity.
  • Support a variety of HR operational activities and administrative requests as business needs arise.
  • Maintain confidential employee records and ensure appropriate documentation is retained in accordance with record retention policies.

Onboarding & Compliance

  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including pre-employment documentation and orientation support.
  • Complete and manage Form I-9 verification and employment eligibility documentation in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Monitor onboarding tasks and follow up with employees, managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion.

Employee Support

  • Manage the HR Operations shared inbox by responding to employee inquiries or routing requests to the appropriate HR team members.
  • Provide timely, professional, and customer-focused support for employee questions regarding HR policies, processes, and programs.
  • Coordinate and support all aspects of the co-op program, including onboarding, offboarding, ongoing check-ins, program communications, and engagement events to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Coordinate employee recognition and milestone gifts for the Boston office.
  • Manage tuition reimbursement submissions and communicate status updates to employees.

Additional HR Support

  • Assist with HR reporting, documentation, audits, and special projects.
  • Provide additional administrative and operational support across the HR team as needed.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources, HR Operations, or Human Resources Administration.
  • Experience working with an HRIS, preferably Workday.
  • Knowledge of onboarding processes, I-9 verification requirements, and HR record management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Teams).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

The base salary range for this role in Boston is $78,000-$92,000. This is a temporary role and will be paid by the hour; placement will vary based on experience, skill set, and location.


This is an estimated range, however, specific base salaries within the range depend on various factors such as experience and skill set. It is not common for new BCG employees to be hired at the high-end of the salary range. BCG regularly reviews its ranges to ensure market competitiveness.
