Who We Are

Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation-inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact.

To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.

What You'll Do

BCG is growing! We are looking for experienced consultants to join our team at the Project Leader or Principal levels. Qualified individuals will play a critical role in enriching project work in their respective areas of expertise and in bringing forward-thinking solutions to our clients. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of strong performance in management consulting and demonstrated leadership in developing client relationships, people, and knowledge.

Project Leaders play a key role on client engagements, managing projects to define client needs and supervising research activities to obtain relevant data. They apply knowledge of business principles and industrial organization, develop actionable recommendations, and supervise work including strategic due diligence, product development studies, change management plans, and the evaluation of long-term investment opportunities. Project Leaders are also responsible for managing client contact and play a key role in the development and maintenance of high-level client relationships. Additionally, they are responsible for guiding the team to exceptional output while developing and building their skills.
Principals are seasoned Project Leaders who take on increasingly complex and multi-faceted projects, with greater responsibility for managing senior client relationships and driving impact. They also begin to play a broader role beyond individual projects, contributing to the development of client accounts and helping identify and shape future opportunities.

Our Expert Consulting Track

The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated expertise aligned with BCG's Public Sector and Technology and Digital Advantage practices, ideally with significant experience leading technology/AI diagnostics, road mapping, and/or subsequent deployments in public sector environments.
  • Excels in bridging the gap between end-user requirements and the strategic business objectives set by senior stakeholders.
  • 2-3+ years consulting experience, with 1+ years at a team lead level.
  • Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that improve stakeholder experience and drive efficiencies. Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including comfort delivering formal presentations to senior management and the ability to bring together stakeholders and persuade senior clients to take action.
  • Strong people leadership and team-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to give and receive candid, actionable feedback across levels, create a positive and high-performing team experience, and build trust and followership among colleagues.
  • Proven ability to build and grow senior client relationships, including a solid track record with large organizations, identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships, and growing the business.
  • Proven ability to manage client engagements and provide thought leadership to teams, owning responsibility for the quality of engagements. A combination of management and "hands on" delivery experience is critical.
  • Strong ownership and attention to detail, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and maintain a high bar for quality and execution while staying close to the details.
  • A degree from a top-tier institution preferred; a technical degree is nice to have but not required.
