What You'll Do
The IT Platform Engineer Specialist - Azure & Power Platform supports the engineering, evolution, and day-to-day operations of the Digital Marketing platform, hosted in the Azure Cloud. You will take reliable ownership of core Azure infrastructure and operations tasks — provisioning services, setting up monitoring, managing credential lifecycle, and applying tagging and cost-code discipline — as well as CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform solutions, while building a basic working understanding of Azure Function Apps and Azure API Management (APIM).
This is an ideal role for someone early in their cloud and platform engineering career who is curious about how modern Azure platforms are run day to day, is eager to invest in continuous learning through a Center of Excellence, and wants a clear path toward architectural design exposure, multi-platform ownership, and deeper Azure API and software development capabilities.
Azure Cloud Infrastructure & Operations
- Provision and configure core Azure services — including subscriptions, service bus, key vault, and function apps — to support the Digital Marketing team’s applications.
- Set up monitoring and insights across both Azure infrastructure and Power Platform flows, giving teams clear visibility into system health.
- Proactively manage the credential lifecycle — documenting and tracking expirations to prevent outages or security gaps.
- Apply tagging and cost-code reporting to support budget accountability across the Azure environment.
CI/CD & Deployment
- Own deployment pipelines for Power Platform solutions using GitHub Actions, enhancing low-code / no-code delivery.
- Build a basic working understanding of creating Azure Function Apps and configuring Azure API Management (APIM), supporting senior engineers on delivery tasks.
Working Style & Team Contribution
- Take reliable ownership of assigned tasks and see them through completion.
- Actively engage in team ceremonies, with genuine curiosity about sprint work beyond assigned tickets.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement activities across the team.
- Show a strong willingness to learn new cloud and platform engineering capabilities.
- Invest in public speaking and mentoring outside of work.
Areas of Learning & Growth
- Build exposure to architectural design and reusable platform patterns.
- Progress toward owning multi-platform engagements end-to-end.
- Deepen Azure API configurations and software development capabilities.
What You'll Bring
- 3 or more years of hands-on experience with Azure Cloud
- Working familiarity with core Azure services — subscriptions, service bus, key vault, function apps — or the ability to ramp up quickly
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions (Azure DevOps also acceptable)
- Familiarity with the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) or a strong willingness to learn low-code / no-code delivery
- Basic understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability concepts (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or similar)
- Comfort with credential and secret management practices in a cloud environment
- Familiarity with version control using Git / GitHub
- Nice to have:
- Exposure to creating Azure Function Apps and configuring Azure API Management (APIM)
- Microsoft certifications such as AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals) or PL-900 (Power Platform Fundamentals)
- Experience contributing to a Center of Excellence, tech community, or internal knowledge-sharing initiative
- Awareness of AI capabilities for Azure.
Who You'll Work With
You will work within the Digital Marketing platform engineering team across multiple geographies, learning under the guidance of senior platform engineers and collaborating with architects, security, and application teams. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to internal tools used globally across BCG while building the foundations of a broader platform engineering career.
