IT Finance - FCPR: Business Systems Analyst

Boston Scientific Financial Consolidation Planning and Reporting (FCPR) team is looking for an experienced Oracle Hyperion analyst/developer. The role will be responsible for bridging business needs with technical solutions through analysis, consultation, validation and implementation. The analyst will act as Essbase and Planning SME. The role will support finance the organization and create a trusted source of financial information for internal external reporting.

Job Activities & Requirements:

  • Initiates, designs and manages the complete user-centered application support cycle (research, modeling, requirement assessment, design, testing, and customer relations) for the Hyperion Planning/Essbase projects, including approaches, trends, sources and uses of data that have a significant impact on individual or multiple departments.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in developing complex calculations using Calc Scripts, Business Rules/Calculation Manager, load rules and other Essbase/Planning calculation features
  • At least two full lifecycle engagements of Planning and Budgeting applications and implementation of Essbase Reporting Applications and its integration with a financial application.
  • Experience configuring Essbase/Planning, application components & artifacts customization, and application optimization settings.
  • Experience with data conversion and loading from various sources such as S4 – SAP, Kronos, SuccessFactors
  • Experience with SmartView, Data forms, and Web Forms.
  • Experience with EPM Oracle SaaS and On-Prem Security and Task Lists.
  • Exposure to Project Management tools/application such as Planisware, Clarity and Planview
  • Ability to create, update, and review functional and technical documents
  • Ability to develop test data, test scripts and execute comprehensive testing of integrated systems.
  • Understanding of all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experienced with agile methodologies and its application in daily support and development processes

  • Manage time efficiently with the capacity to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

Desires Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience developing, supporting and maintaining Hyperion Essbase and/or Planning applications (Hyperion On-Prem and Oracle EPM versions).
  • 3+ years of experience reporting tools and data integration tools (ODI, EDM etc.).
  • Solid experience with application enhancements and evaluation, processes for system changes, and modifications.
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills.
  • Strong expertise in Calc Script, Business Rules/Calc Manager, Groovy and REST API.
  • Advanced Excel skills including macros.
  • Able to create and maintain thorough and complete technical documentation of the Hyperion Systems.
  • Hyperion Certified Professional for Essbase and/or Planning
  • Experience with supporting technologies including SQL, relational databases, OLAP, ODI, FDMEE and DRM/DRG.
  • Work with Solution Architects and Project Managers for future development needs.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems such as Service Now and JIRA.
  • Background in financial or banking applications.
  • Understanding of Finance business processes, including forecasting and budgeting cycles and actual corporate reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, and IFRS accounting standards
  • Familiarity with financial audits, internal controls, US regulatory reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Worked with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools Automation Anywhere/A360, Ui - Path to design and develop software BOTs.
  • Understanding of foreign currency translations and currency effect.
  • Experience with joint ventures, direct and indirect ownership structures, equity pickup.
  • Expert data reconciliation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the causes and remedies of performance issues within the Hyperion environment.
  • Knowledge of other financial modules/EPM Tools, SAP S4, SAP MDG, Anaplan, Planisware, etc.
  • Demonstrated excellence in consultation, presentation, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with business customers & users.
  • BS in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance or a relevant Business field.
