Position Overview:
The Digital Program Manager will have responsibility for leading the development and implementation of Atrial Fibrillation Digital solutions and strategic initiatives. This role will challenge your ability to work on complex projects where deadlines and scope shift frequently. You’ll need flexibility, agility and the ability to adapt to change while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders in a highly cross-matrixed environment.
This individual should have experience in managing a portfolio and/or programs for software and digital products in the healthcare sector. In addition, the individual should have experience navigating a cross-functional organization, possess a strong foundation in key technology platforms and have a demonstrated ability to work within an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Senior Digital Program Manager for key commercial programs within the Digital Enablement Portfolio supporting the AF Solutions Business. Accountable for the cost, schedule, ROI, and performance of the portfolio or associated programs.
- Manage portfolio structure and governance (scope, roles & responsibilities, workstreams, risks, communication & goal alignment, etc.) for digital initiatives.
- Manage large (often multi-workstreams) cross-functional development teams; leads teams and helps diverse and dispersed project team members to execute towards overall project goal(s); provides input to functional managers on team and team member performance; develops and maintains strong relationships with functional leads.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as clients, executives, and partners. Collaborate with them to understand their requirements, address concerns, and ensure project success.
- Foster effective collaboration and communication among cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and coordination across different departments. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to promote knowledge sharing and problem-solving.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies, implementing best practices, and driving innovation within the digital program. Stay updated with industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Manage vendor and service providers to define project scope and performance expectations.
- Identify and assess project risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and implement measures to minimize potential issues. Proactively monitor project progress, identify deviations, and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Estimate program levels of effort and structure requirements (resource, business, functional & technical) by using standard techniques and tools, and by working with appropriate team members to understand scope & impact to business.
- Develop comprehensive set of key program milestones and program plan to establish budget and resource plan. Lead the team in appropriate decision making through the ability to organize and analyze options and build logical arguments.
- Track and measure the performance of digital projects, using key metrics and indicators. Analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage the digital portfolio budget, allocating resources effectively, and optimizing project costs. Monitor expenses, track financial performance, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
- Provide advice, assistance and direction to project teams and management, when required to assist with problem recognition, review, and resolution.
- Develop and deliver project recommendations to stakeholders related to digital products and projects; supports the development of implementation strategy.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g., compliance with FDA, EEO regulations, etc.)
- Travel not expected to exceed 10%.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of project management experience, including 3+ years of portfolio management and program management experience. Extensive cross-functional leadership experience highly relevant to the role is also considered in lieu of direct PM experience.
- Cross-functional experience in the areas of R&D, Commercial, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, and IT are desired.
- Experience in software and digital product development.
- Experience with agile methodology, roles, and responsibilities.
- Understanding of analytical and financial aspects in managing assigned projects.
- Influential leadership skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong negotiation skills.
- Must be able to operate effective and efficiently with little direction and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Ability to collect information from multiple sources and the ability to synthesize, integrate, and resolve conflicting requirements and cross-functional issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of people at all levels of the organization within a variety of departments and business units.
- Ability to exercise a flexible mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification.
- PMI Agile Certification and/or Scrum Master certification
- PLCP lifecycle knowledge
- Ideally experience in commercializing cloud-based software solutions into hospital setting
