Chief Accountant (fixed term contract)
About the role:
A key goal for the Chief Accountant will be to ensure the highest level of accounting service in the completion of month-end close related tasks, preparation of statutory financial statements for the legal entity and assuring all tax obligations are correctly and timely submitted. The successful candidate will contribute to continuous improvements and will also play an important part in collaborating with stakeholders across the company on our financial policies and processes. The role will also partner with functional teams to drive accurate operations by providing appropriate financial advice.
Your responsibilities include:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting under group US GAAP standards and local statutory requirements,
- Serve as a key contributor in monthly and quarterly close processes
- Responsible for local statutory financial statements preparation
- Manage and coordinate internal and external audits
- Responsible for CIT calculation and filing
- Manage VAT reporting and driving necessary VAT changes to assure entity's tax compliance
- Conduct balance sheet reviews, ensuring completeness and accuracy of data
- Supervising all matters related to Transfer Pricing and WHT
- Coordinating MDR process, including reporting of tax schemes
- Reporting to GUS, NBP and INTRASTAT
- Coordinating customer rebate process
- Responsible for Credit & Collections related activities and cooperation with external law firms
- Responsible for implementation of procedures resulting from new corporate and local accounting guidance
- Develop continuous process improvement initiatives
- Assist with special projects and take on additional accounting responsibilities as they arise
- Collaborating with SSC and working jointly on process improvements
- Working on implementing e-invoicing module
Who we are looking for:
- 5+ years of accounting experience on a similar position in international organization
- University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Fluent in Polish and English
- Accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) preferred
- Strong knowledgeable of local tax legislation (CIT, VAT, WHT, TP, MDR) and statutory reporting requirements
- Experience in financial statements preparation and internal audits coordination
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
- Experience in working with Shared Service Centers
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to interact in a highly professional, collaborative manner with all levels of personnel, both internal and external to the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams
- Adaptable to changing priorities and good organization of work
- Experience in working with ERP system (SAP) and in medical device industry would be a plus
