About the role:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in real-world evidence (RWE) and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) with demonstrated experience of a strategic business mindset. As a member of the Urology business unit's Strategic Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA) team, you will play a pivotal role in effectively developing health economics and market access/policy/reimbursement strategy for a substantial business and conceptualize and disseminate relevant research results to influence and shape patient access landscapes globally. In addition, this role will also include collaboration with the franchise leadership teams to support the overall evidence strategy development and execution within the Urology portfolios.

Your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities related to health economics activities include but not limited to:

  • Develop evidence (economics, outcomes, real-world, clinical, bench, value, others) strategy to support the business.
  • Support evidence execution, with hands-on assistance to the business and corporate evidence teams.
  • Represent HEMA on core teams for new product development and launch strategies.
  • Participate in peer-reviewed publications and clinical and economic congress presentations.
  • Accurately and effectively convey key findings and messages from available evidence to relevant healthcare stakeholders with the collaboration with cross-functional and/or cross-regional teams, including Field HEMA, Global Value and Outcomes Marketing (GVOM), Product and Digital Marketing, Corporate and Urology Communications teams.
  • Lead the development of HEMA tools, including, slide presentations, and customer-facing tools for internal and external stakeholders to effectively disseminate findings from HEMA publications or reimbursement/market access materials.
  • Manage HEMA evidence claims matrix to ensure consistent use of HEMA messaging across commercial activities.
  • KOL engagement and ongoing relationship management for key publications and evidence strategies.
  • Provide hands-on assistance and consultation to the HEMA analytic team and HEOR teams for timely execution of various health economic analysis.
  • In conjunction with global HEMA partners, monitor global reimbursement and access policies to secure and expand reimbursement.

Responsibilities related to market access activities include but not limited to health services research, economic tool and calculator developments, new code applications, and support of customer billing guides. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate internally with HEMA functions to address changing local and national policy and reimbursement landscape, as well as market opportunities, disease, and technology trends.
  • Assist in data analytics and interpretation of annual payer policy proposals and changes and qualify / quantify possible impacts on business.
  • Identify opportunity areas to enhance patient access and work collaboratively with Field HEMA team to advance Urology patient access agendas. This includes but not limited to assisting Field HEMA team execution, KOL identification, and provide evidence to support grass root activities.
  • Consultant management for timely delivery of access related projects.
  • Supporting health economics and outcomes research projects.

Required qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D., or equivalent) with 2+ years of experience or Master's degree (M.S., M.P.H., or equivalent) w/ 4+ years of work experience in health policy, health economics, outcomes research, public health, healthcare administration, health services research, or a similar discipline.
  • Work experience in medical industry, including medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or consulting companies or with government agencies, such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) or a similar agency.
  • A solid understanding of Real-World Evidence (RWE) research designs, Cost Effectiveness analysis/Budget Impact Analysis (CEA/BIA) models, and systematic literature reviews (SLR)
  • Understanding of global and US healthcare reimbursement, policy, advocacy, and market access landscapes.
  • Ability to develop and execute health economics or outcomes research (RWE, modeling, QoL, others) strategies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in translation of published literature publications into simplified, compelling messages for Sales and Marketing. This includes but not limited to sales education and training, medical education and national accounts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external (Physicians, Administrators, Payers) stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
  • Demonstrate leadership and project management skills in driving innovative process improvements, collaborating with colleagues to effect change without formal authority.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as advancing initiatives independently in a fast-paced, matrix environment while being flexible to address competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
  • Domestic travel estimated at 15%, including overnight travel.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Successful experience in effectively overseeing and adapting evidence dissemination strategies within new and rapidly changing organizational environments.
  • Experience working on research or initiatives and clinical knowledge and providing key strategies to prioritize and focus on key deliverable to impact the business.
  • Demonstrated success in advocating for and influencing healthcare policy changes at state or federal levels, with the ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders.
