About the role:
The team is seeking a candidate to join the future GSC FinOps team to for leading and supporting activities related to Inventory Accounting and provide inventory analysis to drive visibility, control, and decision-making across the GSC. This role reports to the GSC FinOps Lead and requires minimal travel as needed for team coordination or trainings. The position could be located in multiple BSC locations (not remote eligible).
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and publish inventory reports, including inventory levels, turnover, and trends
- Perform inventory account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Calculate and record inventory reserves (e.g., excess, obsolete, slow-moving)
- Support annual physical inventory or cycle count processes, including policy enforcement and consistency reviews
- Perform amortization and inventory revaluation calculations
- Serve as an inventory subject matter expert (SME) within the GSC FinOps, promoting best practices across site
- Support the annual budget preparation and financial forecasting cycles
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and technology enhancements related to inventory tracking and valuation
- Contribute to training efforts and knowledge sharing within the GSC FinOps and local finance teams
- Champion process documentation and standard operating procedure (SOP) development for GSC FinOps activities
- Drive internal control compliance and audit support related to inventory process
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or any other related discipline
- Working knowledge of inventory/cost accounting principles
- 3+ years of experience in inventory / cost accounting activities within manufacturing, medical equipment, or pharmaceutical industries
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive FP&A experience in inventory / cost accounting activities within manufacturing, medical equipment, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or similarly regulated, innovation‑driven industries
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred
- Experience working in the Global Finance Operations Model and Supply Chain Management is a plus
- Proven track record in influencing cross‑functional partners (Supply Chain, Operations) and leading forecasting cycles
- Experience with SAP ERP and Hyperion systems is an advantage
- Thrives in a matrixed, global environment; demonstrates executive‑ready communication and alignment with our company values
- Experience working with cross-functional teams is preferred
