Our Culture

Our culture is anchored in excellence, meaning constant improvement, and it is deeply tied to our mission. Because markets are objective, competitive, and getting smarter everyday, we need to keep rapidly improving to have any chance of beating them. Truth is our most essential tool for engaging with the markets and constantly improving because once you know what's true about your problems and opportunities, you can determine how to get better. Valuing truth means being transparent about your decision-making and mistakes, giving and receiving feedback with humility, and fighting for the best answers over hierarchy, ego, or self-interest. Operating this way is hard – it's only possible because we build meaning in our work and relationships. This meaning comes from the audacity of the mission, and the joy of working alongside people who make you a better version of yourself. The culture, like Bridgewater itself, is always evolving. In 1997 our founder Ray Dalio wrote down his lessons, starting with a Philosophy Statement which remains our foundation. This later evolved into a set of 300+ Principles. In 2022, when Ray transitioned the company, we re-underwrote several of those principles and evolved others, with a specific focus on Meritocracy. Today the culture sits, alongside our people, as our most important edge. When we get it right, it’s the engine that powers everything else.

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Technical Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with a strong emphasis on AI-enabled products, platforms, and workflows. In this role, you will partner closely with engineering, data science, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions across the full software development lifecycle. You will play a critical role in translating technical and business objectives into executable plans, driving delivery rigor, and ensuring teams are unblocked, aligned, and focused on outcomes. This role requires comfort operating in fast-moving, technically rigorous environments, particularly those involving AI/ML systems, data pipelines, and AI-assisted development practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Delivery Leadership

  • Partner and collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to deeply understand goals, technical constraints, dependencies, and delivery risks.

  • Own end-to-end delivery of technical initiatives, from discovery and planning through execution, release, and realization of business value.

  • Design, maintain, and communicate project plans, roadmaps, milestones, and delivery metrics across the full lifecycle.

  • Anticipate risks and dependencies, proactively removing impediments and addressing potential blockers before they impact delivery.

Agile & Team Enablement

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Guide teams in applying Agile and Scrum principles pragmatically, adapting frameworks to fit the specific needs of AI and data-driven work.

  • Drive continuous improvement across team processes, delivery practices, and organizational workflows.

AI & Technical Collaboration

  • Support delivery of AI/ML initiatives, including model development, experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.

  • Work effectively with teams building and maintaining:

    • Machine learning models and pipelines
    • Build and Manage AI Workflows
    • Generative AI applications (e.g., LLM-powered tools, copilots, automation)
    • Data platforms, feature stores, and inference services
  • Leverage AI-enabled tooling (e.g., AI-assisted project tracking, documentation generation, delivery forecasting, or engineering productivity tools) to improve execution efficiency and visibility.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Stakeholder Communication & Documentation

  • Serve as a central point of coordination across engineering, product, design, data, and business teams.

  • Produce clear, structured documentation including project plans, delivery updates, decision logs, and retrospectives.

  • Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs with clarity, precision, and confidence.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing technical projects across the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in a technically rigorous environment.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end project ownership, with a track record of driving initiatives through to realized business value.
  • Strong, pragmatic knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with the ability to tailor approaches to different delivery contexts.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement in processes, teams, and organizational execution.
  • Strong understanding of software development practices, enabling effective partnership with engineers and product managers while ensuring quality and delivery commitments.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, paired with strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Scrum or Agile frameworks and ceremonies.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience delivering AI/ML or data-intensive projects in production environments.
  • Exposure to MLOps, model lifecycle management, or AI platform tooling.
  • Experience working with or supporting teams using Generative AI, automation, or AI-assisted development tools.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous problem spaces where requirements evolve alongside experimentation and learning.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • Teams are unblocked, focused, and consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.

  • AI initiatives move efficiently from experimentation to production with clear ownership and accountability.

  • Stakeholders have high confidence in delivery plans, timelines, and communication.

  • Processes improve over time, leveraging both Agile best practices and AI-enabled tooling to increase speed and quality.

Physical Requirements

  • The anticipated onsite requirement for this role is 2-3 days per week at our Westport, CT campus and one day per week at our NYC campus.

Compensation Band
