About Bridgewater’s Singapore Office

As part of our ongoing partnership in the Asia Pacific region, we opened a Bridgewater office in Singapore in 2022. The initial focus of our Singapore office will be to deepen our ability to partner with our clients and prospective clients in the region. In line with Bridgewater’s overall mission to grow and diversify our business, our strategic goal is to capitalize on growing commercial opportunities in Asia and further deepen our ability to partner with existing institutional clients and drive new market development with prospective advisory and distribution relationships in the region.

About Your Role

As a Business Development Associate, you will play a pivotal role in the Asia Wealth team of the Client Service and Marketing Department, supporting our efforts to grow and expand relationships with clients and partners in the region. The Associate will act as the orchestrator behind our efforts, translating business goals into seamless execution of internal and external initiatives while helping uncover strategic opportunities across the region.

You’ll be the "air traffic controller" for a dynamic team, blending operational precision with strategic thinking to:

  • Deliver superior service to clients and partners, acting as their trusted liaison
  • Translate high-level business goals into actionable plans—tracking leads, synthesizing market intel, and ensuring flawless execution
  • Design and execute seamless workflows, from high-stakes client meetings to international travel logistics, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
  • Synthesize understanding into crisp, actionable briefs for stakeholders

You will drive the following responsibilities:

  • Partner with your team’s Client Advisor/Marketer to understand marketing goals and translate them into an organized operational cadence for the team
  • Support to cultivate and manage relationships with partners and clients
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities
  • Coordinate tasks, activities and collaboration sessions to meet client needs from visualization to scheduling
  • Understand business goals and drive execution, provide direction, and project manage initiatives across multiple stakeholders
  • Track leads and opportunities, and reporting on status of key activities and keeping knowledge repositories up to date (i.e. CRM)
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations for team and key stakeholders, and ensure team is ready for all client/prospect interactions

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in business development or client-facing role in the asset management industry, strong preference for experience working with global and regional private banks
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record, CFA or CAIA qualification preferred
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • A high degree of proficiency in Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel; general comfort with learning and using new software tools
  • Language requirement: This role communicates regularly with our Westport, CT, US office. Fluency in English and strong written communication skills are required.
  • Language preferences: Our clients communicate in Mandarin and Malay. The ability to read and converse in Mandarin is preferred. Conversational Malay is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • For most of our roles, Bridgewater offers remote work flexibility, with most employees required to work on campus as their principal work location, a minimum of four days per week. Bridgewater’s Singapore Office is located in the Central Business District.
  • This role will require occasional communication with our Westport, CT office, which may require you to take calls and/or be responsive to email outside of standard work hours. This may include early morning (7am SGT) or late evening (8-10pm SGT) due to time differences.
  • Flexibility of working hours is required.

Compensation:

The wage range for this role is S$144,000 – S$214,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 80-90% of this wage range.
