Senior Environmental Acoustics Consultant

You will join an established team who provide environmental noise impact assessments to a wide variety of clients and industries including commercial, sports and entertainment, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments. This will include Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, international projects as well as the potential opportunity to get involved in the other areas of the discipline i.e. building acoustics, events, audio visual, stadium and arena design.    

Key Duties:

• Preparation of noise and vibration impact assessments and accompanying reports, including environmental impact assessment chapters.
• Undertaking noise and vibration surveys, acoustic calculations and modelling.
• Interpretation and application of relevant acoustic policy and standards.
• Management of projects and resources to ensure effective technical and financial management.
• Manage, support and mentor others in the team in their career development and technical work i.e. reviewing calculations, survey methodologies and reports.
• Attend meetings and workshops with clients and other stakeholders. 

Your skills and Experiences: 

• Relevant consultancy experience, predominately within environmental acoustics but experience of building acoustics also advantageous.
• Project management experience (scoping, budgeting, change control and project delivery).
• Effective and flexible communication skills and ability to work with a variety of collaborators.
• Strong team player capabilities, with potential to line manage more junior team members.
• Understanding of relevant policy and regulation.
• Extensive acoustic modelling skills using IMMI, Cadna/A or similar, to predict environmental noise from road, rail (passenger and freight), industrial and construction sources.
• Knowledge of the limitations of traditional prediction and assessment methods and application of alternatives methods where appropriate.
• An Acoustics related qualification.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.
