Responsibilities:
As a Vertical Transportation Consultant and key member of our North American Specialist Team, you'll lead the design and development of VT solutions. Your strategic role will involve:
- Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering their technical and professional development.
- Project Management: Lead Vertical Transport projects on single and multi-disciplinary projects & coordination with engineers of other disciplines, Overseeing the production of reports, specifications, and drawings.
- Technical Expertise: Provide high-level technical input and innovative solutions for challenging engineering problems through all stages of the projects, including scheme, design, bidding and construction administration.
- Excellence in Design. Undertaking vertical traffic analysis, using software such as Elevate for analysis, to deliver design concepts, calculating the number, size and speed of elevators across many typologies of buildings.
- Field Support. Assist and lead the preparation of site surveys and produce resultant reports, assist with the inspection of installations and the witness of critical testing.
- Client Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external collaborators, supporting the leadership to develop long term relationships. Be able to represent our team at internal and external client meetings as required
- Business Development: Contribute to proposal writing, client presentations, and business development initiatives to grow our project portfolio.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee and ensure the quality of deliverables across multiple projects, implementing and maintaining high standards of work.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Lead collaboration efforts with experts from various disciplines, including People Movement, Structures, MEP, Acoustics, Lighting, and sustainability, mobility, and energy to develop holistic solutions.
- Innovation: Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies by maintaining current knowledge and understanding of industry operational and equipment trends.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering.
- Professional Experience: 5 years minimum in building design, modernization, or construction projects as a Vertical Transportation consultant, project manager, or engineer.
- Technical Proficiency: Understanding of, and adherence to, applicable industry ASME codes, standards, and safety rules.
- Technical Experience: Solid understanding of elevators, escalators, and moving walks and the creative design and application of these systems to solve vertical and horizontal challenges on the most complex of building types. Experience in undertaking vertical traffic analysis.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences
- Bonus: QEI/CEI certification, PE Licensing
What we offer:
- Salary range of $90,000 to $145,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
