UK+ Head of Business Insight

We have a vacancy for a UK+ Head of Insight. This role raises productivity and profitability in the UK+ business unit, through employing a combination of hindsight and foresight to interpret both qualitative and quantitative data collated from internal systems and key stakeholders, to deliver robust, relevant, and actionable performance reporting and insights, empowering Buro Happold to make evidence-based, factually accurate strategic business decisions.

The UK+ business will be equipped with best possible information and tools to influence business and project performance and mitigate risk, and business objectives are aligned with insights.
What will you be doing
- To hold an integrated overview of business performance across three key areas:
- Effective work winning
- To provide performance information (market trends and data analysis) helping to improve client focus
- To support the bid process and increase successful outcomes
- To review and reflect timely, insightful performance data to the UK Leadership Team to enable them to make informed business decisions around budgeting and strategy-setting
- Considered business planning
- To provide the UK Leadership Team with the clearest possible view of workload in order to effectively manage and prioritise resource demand and supply
- To provide analysis of past performance and trends that will inform a view of future performance
- To provide regular validation and verification of potential future work and be the main point of contact for projects.
- To carry out ad hoc analysis to support business scenario planning and risk mitigation
- To promote a culture of collaboration and transparency
- To support cross-region working (workshare) including the regular review and reporting of progress, troubleshooting, and forecasting efficient delivery
To support commercial awareness, and increase utilisation and profitability within the engineering teams, developing tools to help keep projects on time and on budget, and teams fully resourced and also to Contribute to global improvement initiatives and insight
To promote a global culture of commercial effectiveness, through best in class project financial management and planning and the effective use of our tools to support this
To take an active role in global improvement projects relating to systems and insights, providing a conduit from the UK business unit to the central business services teams (IT and Business Intelligence especially) and supporting global operational excellence
Inspire and lead
To manage the Business Analyst, support the management of their pipeline and efficient delivery of projects, and help prioritise and define briefs for their work
To represent equity and diversity within the practice and the promotion of a fair and inclusive culture
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven record of success within a complex matrix-based organisation with a global span
- Meaningful commercial acumen acquired through extensive experience in business operations
- Numerate, analytical and collaborative with substantial experience of embedding data-driven insight into a business
- Demonstrable team and stakeholder management experience
- Ability to understand and influence a wide range of diverse stakeholders
- Broad technology experience; Deltek ERP, MS SQL Server, MS Excel and PowerBI and/or other reporting presentation solutions desirable
- Deep knowledge of Buro Happold systems and processes
