Location: UK – London or Edinburgh
Practice Area: Capital Markets, Risk, Regulation, Compliance
Type: Permanent

Intro

Capco is expanding its Regulatory Reporting & Compliance practice, and we’re looking for a Director-level leader (Managing Principal) with deep expertise in trade and transaction reporting. As global regulatory scrutiny and reporting expectations increase, this role offers the opportunity to guide financial institutions through complex regulatory change, control remediation, and reporting optimisation across multiple jurisdictions.

If you bring strategic vision, hands-on regulatory knowledge, and a consulting mindset, this is your chance to shape the reporting landscape across EMIR Refit, MiFIR, SFTR, CFTC, and beyond.

Why This Role

As a Trade & Transaction Reporting (Managing Principal) Director at Capco, you will serve as a trusted advisor to global banks and capital markets firms, helping them deliver large-scale regulatory reporting change programmes. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams to design, implement, and optimise end-to-end reporting frameworks that enhance compliance, control, and data quality.

This is the ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a consulting environment, enjoys solving complex cross-border reporting challenges, and wants to play a key role in shaping the regulatory future of financial markets.

What You’ll Do

You’ll lead regulatory change and transformation programmes, with a focus on:

  • Supporting clients with end-to-end regulatory reporting change including impact assessments, implementation, remediation, control design, and architecture optimisation.
  • Leading programmes aligned to EMIR Refit, MiFIR, CSDR, SFTR, CFTC, HKMA, MAS, and other global regimes.
  • Reviewing and improving reporting control frameworks, data flows, validation, reconciliations, and exception management.
  • Advising on the implementation of reporting platforms and regtech tools.
  • Overseeing operating model reviews and cost optimisation initiatives within post-trade reporting.
  • Leading major business change and compliance assurance initiatives across reporting obligations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Deep expertise in trade and transaction reporting regulation, including delivery of change across EMIR, MiFIR, SFTR, CFTC, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of OTC derivatives, equities, and fixed income products.
  • Proven experience working with or managing teams responsible for reporting controls, reconciliations, and exception handling.
  • Front-to-back knowledge of capital markets organisations, including Front Office, Operations, Risk, Treasury, Technology, and Compliance.
  • Prior consulting experience or senior leadership in regulatory reporting/change functions within industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-stream regulatory programmes with accountability for scope, governance, and senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Commercial mindset with proven ability to grow client accounts, develop consulting propositions, and lead sales efforts.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience implementing or working with vendor platforms (e.g. UnaVista, DTCC, Regnology, Kaizen, SteelEye).
  • Familiarity with data lineage mapping, data governance, and reporting schema design.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies in the reporting space (e.g. regtech, DLT, real-time reporting).
  • Capability to lead and mentor teams, manage bids, and shape go-to-market campaigns.
  • Involvement in industry groups or regulatory consultations on transaction reporting matters.
