About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Business Analyst to support a high-impact Fee Billing Remediation Project with one of our key banking clients. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, enjoys working with data, and can collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. This role is essential to ensuring billing accuracy, improving operational processes, and strengthening client trust.
Key Responsibilities
1. Analysis & Investigation
- Conduct a thorough review of client agreements to validate contracted rates and charges.
- Analyze root causes of billing inconsistencies, including system errors, data-entry issues, or misinterpretation of fee schedules.
2. Impact Assessment
- Quantify financial impacts resulting from billing discrepancies, covering both short-term and long-term revenue implications.
- Assess the business impact of identified revenue loss, including operational, financial, and client relationship considerations.
3. Data Remediation & Process Correction
- Support the development of a comprehensive remediation plan to resolve inconsistencies and address systemic gaps.
- Execute data validation processes to ensure billing data accuracy and integrity.
- Perform reconciliation activities to realign billed amounts with agreed-upon fee structures.
4. Stakeholder & Client Management
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive effective remediation.
- Participate in walkthroughs to present findings, feedback, and impact assessments to clients.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding the remediation process and updates to billing statements or invoices.
5. Business-As-Usual (BAU) Support
- Verify invoice and billing statement accuracy for monthly billing cycles.
- Identify and freeze dormant accounts based on provided lists.
- Support re-billing activities based on corrected fee arrangements.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret contracts or structured documents (e.g., agreements, fee schedules).
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas).
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in banking, billing operations, or financial services.
- Exposure to data remediation, reconciliation, or process improvement activities.
- Familiarity with client-facing communication or stakeholder coordination.
