Capital One Community Impact & Investment is looking for a Senior Manager to lead and expand Capital One’s Pro Bono Program. Capital One Pro Bono brings valuable talent resources to nonprofits and small businesses, providing them with the support needed to make an even greater impact. Through Pro Bono, organizations are able to serve more beneficiaries, become more efficient, and deliver on their missions more effectively. The Pro Bono Senior Manager will manage key components of our strategic roadmap to maximize associate engagement, impact, and scale. They will work across enterprise-wide LOBs and external stakeholder groups to create and implement pro bono programming that:

  • Provides support and systemic change for organizations serving the community’s highest needs

  • Aligns with our Capital One Impact Initiative Strategy

  • Scales and grows capacity building support for Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs)

  • Delivers business returns including Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) results, business development, associate engagement and reputation

Program Management

Accountable for the management and ongoing scalability of the tri-annual Pro Bono project engagement timeline and the Growth Consulting programs.

  • Execute on & continuously evaluate program strategy to influence advancement opportunities

  • Coordinate corporate-wide program managers and affiliated governance teams

  • Manage and monitor program’s annual operating budget

  • Source, create, and tailor Pro Bono engagements and activities to meet Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) requirements and LOB objectives of culture, engagement, professional development, talent brand, or associate retention

  • Partner with Legal & Risk to ensure strong community reputation and proactively manage reputational risk through Master Services Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and other third-party contracts

  • Maintain overall pro bono impact reporting, Qualitative Narratives, and storytelling pipelines

  • Define opportunities to build AI for Good capabilities into Pro Bono program offerings and define multi-year execution strategy

  • Scale programming by growing CDFI engagements, and building new practice areas

Strategic Leadership

Manage the development and expansion of programs to meet capacity building and business development needs for start-ups, small businesses and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI), and the development of AI for Good capabilities

  • Evaluate existing materials and design new content that articulates Capital One’s CDFI/Small Business support value proposition

  • Collaborate on program goal-setting, strategic planning, volunteer training, data collection and reporting, and implementation of best practices across various internal teams working with small businesses

  • Build and design new initiatives that allow Capital One to respond to unique and specific small business and CDFI needs

  • Anticipate core components of new initiatives and scope out roles and functions needed to develop, launch, and successfully execute pilot programs

  • Build the right forums to solicit community needs for differentiated services from Capital One associates, LOBs, and third-party stakeholders

People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of associates responsible for supporting engagements

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and professional growth

  • Drive critical decisions, remain action oriented, and be able to consistently deliver results through others

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of experience in project management, relationship management, and /or process management

  • At least 6 years of experience in strategy development

  • At least 5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional experience implementing or complying with the Community Reinvestment Act

  • Experience with talent recruitment and placement or pro bono programming

  • Experience within consulting services

  • Experience with Social Impact programming and/or skills based volunteerism design

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $172,900 - $197,300 for Sr Manager, Project Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
