About The Role:

As the Director of Retail Facility Operations at Capital One, you will lead a fast paced and dynamic team of Capital One associates and outsourced real estate contractors to ensure optimal facility management at Retail locations. Through progressive facility management practices and partnerships, this candidate will strive to advance the maintenance and enhancement programs for our Retail Branch and Café workplaces to ensure safe, comfortable and productive environments for our associates and customers. This leader will provide guidance and leadership over day-to-day facility issues, build a strategy and roadmap for facility/real estate initiatives, utilize data to solve problems, and implement processes to ensure a well managed facilities portfolio.

This candidate should have extensive experience in facility management, outsourced supplier management, project/process development, people leadership, and a high degree of knowledge in corporate real estate and retail property management. They should have excellent communication skills and be able to foster productive relationships with a broad list of cross-functional partners and stakeholders. This position will report directly to the Retail Real Estate Operations Lead and will interact with senior leadership within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a team of 4-6 direct reports

  • National responsibility for facility management of Capital One’s Retail real estate portfolio with oversight of regional teams; develop and implement facilities strategies across the portfolio

  • Develop and execute a facilities management strategy which is aligned with organizational goals, objectives, and efficiency initiatives

  • Manage relationships with facilities providers

  • Oversee performance and governance of Capital One’s outsourced real estate supplier - workload management, performance/quality management, KPI definition

  • Drive KPIs / SLAs with business partners, deliver planned savings and maintain high service levels

  • Produce regular reporting on business updates and team performance including MBRs, QBRs, and ad hoc leadership presentations

  • Oversee customer relationship management with Capital One’s associates and leadership in our Retail Branches and Cafés

  • Collaborate with outsourced leadership and internal business partners to identify cross-functional process improvement opportunities

  • Support issue resolution, incident management and communications

  • Work with direct reports and real estate supplier to prepare, approve and monitor budgets and delivery plans while optimizing the portfolio

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to maximize business value and results

  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Bank Leadership, Construction, Operations, Finance, Strategy, Legal, Risk, and Design to implement integrated solutions that support business objectives

  • 10-20% domestic travel for required meetings and site visits

A Great Candidate Will Have:

  • A passion for coaching and developing a team of associates

  • Demonstrated experience with proven results in a corporate real estate environment (preferably in Retail real estate)

  • A proven track record of excellent project management skills, with the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic and complex environment

  • Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts

  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment

  • Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

  • Extensive project management and supplier management experience

  • Expertise in budget management, prioritization, and contract negotiations

  • In-depth knowledge of facility operations, maintenance best practices, and regulatory compliance

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 10 years experience in facility management

  • At least 10 years experience in corporate real estate

  • At least 3 years people leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years experience in facility management

  • 15+ years in corporate real estate

  • 5+ years people leadership experience in a matrixed organization with oversight of contractors

  • 5+ years experience managing an outsourced provider in a corporate real estate environment
