As a Manager on the Global Enterprise Communications team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and executing strategic communication efforts that elevate Capital One’s brand and reputation specific to the Commercial Bank. Working across teams, you’ll help deliver impactful campaigns and foster strong relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with team leads to execute external communications campaigns that align with enterprise and line-of-business objectives

  • Lead communications planning and execution for the Commercial Real Estate and New Markets Tax Credits lines-of-business within the Commercial Bank, with the potential to participate in more sectors of the Commercial Bank

  • Manage concurrent and effective communications tactics including: executive visibility initiatives, ‘always on’ media relations, sponsored content and social media

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including investor relations, commercial bankers, public affairs, risk and corporate reputation colleagues, as well as external stakeholders including agency partners to ensure seamless implementation of communications strategies

  • Communicate, collaborate and provide communications counsel to senior banking executives

  • Develop compelling presentations, strategies and campaign metrics reports

  • Contribute to team-wide efforts to develop processes and implement operational excellence

  • Stay informed about industry trends to inform and enhance communication strategies

  • Provide crisis counsel and issues management for the Commercial Bank

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of communications experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in the financial services industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public relations or communications experience in commercial banking, commercial real estate, capital markets, or B2B technology

  • At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with external stakeholders

  • At least 2 years of developing and executing thought leadership campaigns for external audiences

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $134,400 - $153,300 for Communications Manager


New York, NY: $146,600 - $167,300 for Communications Manager


Plano, TX: $122,100 - $139,400 for Communications Manager


Richmond, VA: $122,100 - $139,400 for Communications Manager








Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
