Protein Business and Supply Chain Rotational Associate Position:
The Protein Business Operations & Supply Chain Rotational Program is a two-year rotational program within Protein North America, with one year spent in an Operations role at a plant location and one year spent in a Supply Chain role at either a plant location, or Protein headquarters in Wichita, KS. We also offer a two-year supply chain only option, based in Wichita, KS. This outstanding program provides training, experience, and exposure to both Operations and Supply Chain. Associates will focus on developing the key skills and capabilities early in their careers that are critical for future leaders and will receive real, immediately impactful, and diverse experiences in each rotation. Associates will have the opportunity to explore and develop their passions in an outstanding organization, while having a dedicated support system to ensure they are reaching their full potential.
Your Work:
Plant Operations:
The year spent in an Operations role will prepare the associate for a Plant Operations Supervisor role at the conclusion of the program. They will become familiar with the workflow of plant operations. Associates will also learn and shadow across various plant teams and departments. The duration of the training and time spent in each department will vary based on the business needs and previous experience. Primary training could include:
- Operations
- Shipping/Receiving
- Warehouse
- Food Safety Quality & Regulatory
- Environmental, Health & Safety
- Engineering
- Continuous Improvement
- Human Resources
- Accounting
Plant Operations Environment:
This role allows the associate to learn about the business by performing critical tasks within the production environment in our protein processing facilities. This generally requires a moderate amount of physical exertion on a fairly regular basis. The work may also involve other conditions or exposures (i.e. heat, cold, wet environments, etc.). This role may require shifts including 2nd and 3rd shift and weekend hours.
- Potential Business Area:Beef Processing, Poultry Processing, Egg Processing, or Cooked Further Processing
Supply Chain:
The year spent in a Supply Chain role is a training opportunity that will give the associate exposure to the many different areas of Protein’s sophisticated Supply Chain. This rotation will provide hands-on exposure and ownership within one of our Supply Chain roles, and also allow opportunities to shadow and gain exposure across other teams. During this rotation, associates will tackle real challenges, cultivate curiosity, have client exposure, enjoy both personal and team accomplishments, and have their innovations acknowledged along the way. Associates could have exposure to any of these Supply Chain teams:
- Demand Planning
- Supply Planning
- Scheduling & Production Planning
- Data & Analytics
- Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Materials Management
- Merchandising
- Customer Replenishment

Compensation:
The expected salary for this position is $65,000. The disclosed salary has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

Job Locations & Timing:
- Rotational Associates will be based at one of the 35+ plant locations across North America or our Protein Headquarters in Wichita, KS (Supply Chain Rotation only)
- Relocation is possible during the 2 years in program.
- The rotational program will begin in January or June of 2025, based on graduation date.
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited program in supply chain, operations management, procurement, statistics, mathematics, computer science, information technology, engineering, MIS, or other related agriculture/business fields, graduating between Fall 2023 and Spring 2025
- Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
- Ability to work optimally with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures
- Willing and able to relocate
- Ability to contribute, both as part of a team and individually
- Strong communication skills – written and oral
- Willingness to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts and weekends should the occasional need arise (During Plant Operations rotation only)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Previous internship or work-related experience
- Ability to demonstrate a strong aptitude for business
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions independently
- Strong prioritization and problem solving skills, collaboration skills, verbal and written communication skills, and information research and gathering skills
