Role Summary: The Senior Sales Consultant is an integral member of the National Accounts New Business sales team. In this role the Senior Sales Consultant will be responsible for providing strategic sale support to the National Accounts Sales VPs in new business growth, focused on selling product solutions such as medical, dental, pharmacy, behavioral, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Under leadership of an experienced National Sales VP (NST), support the new business growth activities for the region assigned. Fortune 100-500 employers
- Support the achievement membership sales, growth, profitability and persistency goals, including prospecting and consultant relationship management and development
- Maintain knowledge of market trends and competitive service differentiators.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Cigna products and services across all product lines (Healthcare, Dental, Behavioral, Group Insurance, Pharmacy, Condition/Disease Management, Lifestyle Management Program, Incentive Programs, Cigna Global, etc.).
- Collaborate with Advocacy partners on benefits, service and relationships strategies to ensure growth
- Work closely with a variety of internal and external individuals to accomplish your goals, including National Account Managers, Service Operations, Underwriting, Product, Marketing, Pricing, and Sales Effectiveness.
- Collaborate with local sales team – U3000 & O3000 partnership.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience) & 3+ years of relevant experience required
- Knowledge of healthcare / managed care business; to include many or all of the following: product knowledge, underwriting, risk and financial analysis skills, marketing processes, sales practices, account management and knowledge of administrative operations
- Familiarity with salesforce.com
- Strong presentation skills; ability to modify communication delivery based on audience
- Strong project management skills
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated planning/organizational skills; ability to plan for both the long and short term; ability to work on many issues at once and to prioritize work
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with matrix partners to drive deliverables
