Position Overview
The ServiceNow Engineer is responsible for the development, configuration, and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform, with a focus on CMDB (Configuration Management Database) and Reporting.
This role ensures accurate tracking of IT assets, maintains CMDB health, and delivers meaningful insights through reporting and analytics.
The engineer will work closely with IT teams to automate workflows, integrate systems, and support ServiceNow enhancements.
Responsibilities
ServiceNow Development & Administration
Configure and customize ServiceNow modules including ITSM, CMDB, and Reporting.
Develop and maintain workflows, UI policies, business rules, and scripts to automate processes.
Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and Integration Hub.
CMDB Configuration & Maintenance
Maintain and enhance CMDB to ensure accurate tracking of IT assets and relationships.
Perform regular audits and data validation to resolve duplicate, stale, or incorrect data.
Implement and configure new CIs and relationships based on business requirements.
Work with ServiceNow Discovery & Service Mapping to automate CI population and maintain data integrity.
Ensure CMDB health and compliance by following ITIL best practices.
Integrate CMDB with external tools (e.g., Azure, monitoring tools).
Reporting & Analytics
Create and manage ServiceNow reports, dashboards, and Performance Analytics.
Design custom reports for incidents, changes, assets, and CMDB health.
Work with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and insights.
Troubleshooting & Platform Support
Identify and resolve ServiceNow platform issues, ensuring system stability.
Manage ServiceNow upgrades, patches, and performance optimizations.
Maintain security and role-based access controls (RBAC).
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Technical Skills
Strong experience with ServiceNow development, administration, and CMDB management.
Expertise in CMDB configuration, Discovery, and Service Mapping.
Hands-on experience in ServiceNow Reporting, Dashboards, and Performance Analytics.
Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
Familiarity with ITIL processes, ITSM, and ITOM modules.
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work in an Agile environment and manage multiple priorities.
Location & Hours of Work:
Hyderabad and Hybrid (11:30 AM IST to 8:30 PM IST)
