Job Description Summary


Leads Application Development team with full technical responsibility for team output. Manages a team responsible for the maintenance, implementation and updating of internal IT applications. Oversees refinement, design, build, testing support & deployment of software solutions, contributing to systems documentation and training. Additional activities may include: analysis, peer reviews and providing support to the Production Support Team. Focuses on delivery of short-term outputs sprint-by-sprint and the effectiveness of team collaboration with other work areas. Provides input into PI Planning and recruitment activities.

The Organisation:

The International Health Delivery Services (IHDS) organisation is responsible for International Health’s shared Contact Center, Provider and Digital software solutions used across many of our regions. The multiple scrum teams in the Global space have developers and testers in Bangalore and are continuing to invest in growing the capability and maturity of these teams.

The Position:

Reporting to the Application Development Senior Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the Development capability of the CHSI, Bangalore-based International Health Core scrum teams, supporting our Core global applications used by the Contact Center, Clinical, and Operations teams. The incumbent will oversee the onboarding, training and effectiveness of the team and will liaise closely with Scrum Masters across the IHDS Core train to ensure that the needs of the teams are being met and managed effectively. The incumbent Supervisor will be a high-performing individual who is methodical, inquisitive and has a passion for high-quality deliverables. They will be expected to provide innovative solutions to overcome challenges and meet the capacity needs of the teams. Engaging across the IH Global scrum teams you will support effective delivery of successful software solutions (mainly Salesforce) utilising SAFe Agile methodology, collaborating with individuals located globally with both in-person and remotely managed meetings.

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Management

  • Supervise and mentor a Bangalore based team of Salesforce developers and administrators

  • Manage individual performance and have a detailed awareness of the demand on each of the individuals within that team and a high-level understanding of demand on members of the other teams

  • Manage human resource staffing based on the demand & supply

  • Ensure new CHSI employees are efficiently onboarded and looked after during joining their onboarding process

  • Responsible for the career development and the performance of the team members

  • Foster team collaboration and continuous improvement, resulting in a good work environment & culture for the teams

  • Manage resourcing related risks & issues with proactive mitigations

  • Application Development

  • Work as a dedicated Salesforce developer on one of the Core Train scrum teams, delivering user stories from its backlog

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve the quality & productivity of the team

  • Participate in relevant agile ceremonies

  • Adhere to the organization's policies, best practices and help to drive changes to achieve more efficiency

  • Conduct and participate in peer code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables

  • Create and maintain technical documentation

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

  • 8 Yrs experience in Software Development

  • 3 yrs. Experience as Team Lead

  • At least one of: Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Platform App Builder or Salesforce Platform Developer Certifications

  • Development experience in Salesforce Service Cloud and/or Health cloud

  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform (Apex, Lightning Components, SOQL, etc.)

  • Knowledge of the Health Insurance Industry

  • Broad knowledge of the Software Delivery Lifecycle

  • Proven experience of working within an Agile environment

  • Competent user of Microsoft office applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Comfortable working independently, leading a team and as part of a team

  • Demonstrate accuracy and possess a keen eye for detail

  • Strong interest in both mentoring and own personal development

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Financial Services business knowledge

  • Web based software development, especially using Java and HTML

  • Vlocity/Omnistudio experience with Omniscripts, Data Raptors and Integration Procedures

  • Experience integrating Salesforce with third-party systems (REST/SOAP APIs)

  • Agile tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Azure Dev Ops)

  • Experience with Salesforce DevOps tools such as Copado, Git, SFDX
