Position Summary
The PBS Operations Business Product Owner (BPO) acts as a strategic liaison between business sponsors and technology teams to drive high-impact, efficiency-focused initiatives across the division and enterprise. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of business requirements for new and enhanced business applications and products. The BPO collaborates closely with Technical Product Owners (TPOs) to translate business needs into actionable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and document business requirements in collaboration with business sponsors, TPOs, and system engineering teams.
- Lead and support the development of business applications and products from ideation through implementation.
- Extract and analyze business requirements from stakeholders and ensure alignment with technical teams.
- Provide input into the technical design of applications to ensure business needs are met.
- Create and manage epics to support analytical and operational needs.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, release planning, and stakeholder meetings to ensure successful adoption and delivery.
- Apply project management tools and methodologies to support business initiatives.
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders regularly.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Leverage business, technical, and financial acumen to support project and portfolio success.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- 5 plus years of experience in program management or as a product owner required
- Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and organizational skills required
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with Agile methodology preferred
- Proficiency in Jira preferred
- Strong emotional intelligence and problem-solving skills preferred
- Familiarity with digital tools and communication platforms preferred
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous or evolving environments preferred
