As a Business Analytics Advisor, you will be responsible for advising the strategic direction of a commercial book of business for National Account clients using analytical tools to create insight-driven recommendations. You will be responsible for client-facing utilization strategy and program value presentations. You will also support internal and external stakeholder requests with deep utilization data analysis at both the client and industry level. Your goal will be to improve health outcomes, identify business opportunities, and uncover areas for plan performance improvement. This highly visible role plays a critical part in maintaining client relationships and ensuring that Client Informatics delivers the value expected by our most prominent clients.
Highly detailed analysis of client data:
Manage the synthesis of large datasets into meaningful information used to drive informed client decisions.
Prepare client specific cost, trend and utilization analysis on an account book of business.
Conduct ad hoc analyses by synthesizing large volumes of data into meaningful conclusions.
Evaluate client specific (when available) return of Cigna's clinical and health engagement tools and programs.
Identify and quantify benefit program opportunities that enhance Cigna's relationship with each client.
Build and deliver client-facing utilization presentations.
Drive product and service solutions:
Deliver client-specific information to drive/validate overall engagement strategy.
Establish direct client relationships on key accounts with client influencers/buyers.
Educate account team so that they better understand medical cost drivers and manage client needs/demands.
Demonstrate product opportunity during client result presentations.
Identify emerging risks and opportunities to distribution leadership.
Influence business partners in a way that drives profitable growth.
Communication to key partners:
Prepare account teams for client interactions by ensuring a clear understanding of informatics capabilities.
Lead client discussions and effectively represent subject expertise.
Act as an internal analytical consultant for external requests (consultant, client, account team).
Establish partnership with sales executives in defining client engagement strategy, as well as health promotion managers and onsite clinic medical staff.
Demonstrate passion for and dedication to anticipating and meeting the expectations and requirements of clients.
Contribute to a learning culture:
Identify opportunities to enhance analytic tools and develop presentation models.
Manage and deliver project work associated with Cigna product initiatives that require informatics build and support.
Drive the continual development of Best Practice medical cost analytics and forecasting tools.
Communicate analytical findings/gaps/solutions to senior management at client organizations.
Understand detailed technical processes and create project specifications to support ongoing improvement of Cigna’s reporting and analytics capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience
5 years’ healthcare, business or government experience in an analytic or consulting capacity
Experience working with health care data (claims, provider, eligibility, etc.) is required
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VBA not required). Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proven capacity to communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Working knowledge of analytics and business intelligence tools (SQL, Tableau, Toad, (or equivalent)) is preferred
Working knowledge of enterprise data warehouses (CCW, GHTR (or equivalent)) is preferred
Strong problem solving and independence
Strong analytical and technical skills are required
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 96,000 - 160,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
